FF8 or FF9?
Need a new FF to play, and can't decide between these two. From what I've seen, I think character models look better in 8 than 9, but other than that I have no idea which of the two is better.
And given that they're both final fantasy, I've heard extremely mixed opinions about both
Please respond.
they are both good just flip a coin
people will tell you otherwise, but FFIX is literally perfect aside from the slow combat
Is Gabe really /v/'s mascot?
No, Gabe is reddit's mascot.

Both sides are equal, though -- Half-Life 2 and Undertale are masterpieces, Monkey Island and Gone Home are both mediocre.

>put at least 20 hours into it otherwise I feel like I wasted my money
it doesn't happen often but damn.
It has been over 24 hours and Valve hasn't said a damn thing about the security issues.
Why can't they just outsource their community management?
Because they don't give a shit, they'll still make their money
>mod stickies a thread overreacting on /v/
>mod falls asleep so it isn't unstickied
>this means there actually was a huge problem and it's still occurring

It was already adressed 3 hours after they fixed it, it only lasted 1 hour and nothing of value was lost and not a single fuck was given that day.
Fuck off slowpoke.
What are some games one could play either "actively" or "passively"?
Runescape comes to mind first, so I guess I'm looking for Runescape-esque games. To me, playing passively is like doing something that isn't very mentally demanding - such as clicking on trees or water bubbles and tabbing out to something else. Essentially, letting the game "play itself", though you're still accomplishing something just by having it on running.
Playing actively is the more traditional way and demands more brainpower. Games like League...

That's a very interesting question OP, though I don't know the answer.
Just thought someone else should reply besides our /v/edditor over here
Hearthstone i guess, i mostly tab out and don't give a fuck about what happens but can still get gold and shit
But if you want you can sit down and really tryhard and improve constantly, so I guess that is one

ONE WEEK until Classic Game Room ends.
I'm going to miss it. Mark was a chill dude in a sea of petulant manchildren.
Is it going to be done forever? No more Mark at all?
>>321544709
Mark said he'll be continuing CGR alone just as a hobby, instead of a job.
>>321544373
Why is he stopping?
What's /v/'s opinion on this game?
Can I still have fun if I don't have a party to play with or will I get steamrolled? Seems like communication and coordination are a big deal in this one.
>>321544348
I play just with randoms, and have an okay time. But winning does rely on teamwork and coordination. But honestly the game doesn't have enough content to justify the $60 price tag
>>321545493
It's $44 right now
>mfw got this with a gpu purchase
>mfw gpu was DOA
You know what's the most underrated aspect of game design? The part where the game's up and running instantly after you start it up. I find myself often playing Binding of Isaac even though its design is flawed to hell. But it's very easy to pick up, there's no several minutes of going through logos and menus and loading states.
Good optimization is also tied to TECHNOLOGY because it takes effort to program.
>tfw that will be a selling point in a few years that devs will have to sell as a feature because games will continue to get worse in loading times/installing/patching/etc.
REMEMBER ALL THOSE GAMES IN 2015 THAT TOOK FOREVER TO EVEN START PLAYING?! WELL OOOOUUUURRRRR GAME IS INSTANTANEOUS! BUT THE GAME IS DOGSHIT NOT WORTH PLAYING! BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN PLAY IT INSTANTLY! WHO NEEDS PATIENCE?!
>>321544260
Are you fucknig serious OP? Binding of Isaac is pretty much a fucking flash game. Are you seriously trying to compare the loading requirements of that to your average 3d AAA game? Jesus christ.
>>321544260
Super Hexagon was good at that.
You'll probably only find it with small indie games.
>Bro-tier characters
I'll start
>>321544087
I don't remember this guy, what's his name?
>>321544426
Zao, in the Chinese submarine
>>321544426
Handcock
So is it worth it? Is it worth all the hype you guys give it? Any good mods? Am I in for a treat?
Nigga, you don't buy this game, you pirate it. Otherwise you're just giving money to Activision.
Pirate, dummie.
>>321544045
I haven't bought it because I'm like 80% certain that all the hype around it is a meme and that if I tried to play it for the first time in 2015 it would be a case of "games /v/ said were good but were actually shit"
>$36
SJW pandering complaints aside, is this game any good? I'm thinking of buying it since it's on sale
It looksfunand unlike Unity seems well optimized.
As much as I try to ignore it, SJW turbofag dialogue made the game unplayable
Also the only AC games I ever play are Unity and Ezio's Saga because the English are constantly pushed as the bad guys in every other one.
Fucking french canadians can suck a fat dick
>>321543930
I've heard nothing but good things and bugs about it.
>>321543930
Unity is 100% better than this buggy sjw shit. Go get Unity instead, this is my advice to you buddy.
Which system is superior?
WRPG because final fantasy has always been shit
>wrpgs aren't turnbased
Because tb combat is exclusive to Jrpgs, and all Jrpgs use it
