Straight up anon-kun, is Morrowind really the immersive epic everyone says it is? No nostalgia fags please. I'm looking for a new western RPG to play with a great world to really get sucked into, the last game that did that for me was Oblivion and Path of Exile. I installed Morrowind once years ago (having already been spoilt by modern rpgs) and just didn't have the patience for the foggy, jagged, non - voice acted game that met me, I don't really know what I was expecting. Let me stress, I'm really looking for immersive, well built world's and I was...

the game has all that but it also has a very large hump at the begining that can be hard to overcome, if you can get over that hump its great
>>322206991
It was the pinnacle of engaging RPGs at the time. The key words here being, at the time.
Now it's archaic at best, with questionable combat and graphics that have aged horrendously. Doesn't stop it from being a good game, but playing it vanilla is unbearable.
>>322206991
better than the later games by degrees but that doesnt mean much
Just bought the game, what am i in for?
Was watching aasscancer britvid about the game and looks pretty fun. What is the general consensus about the game in here? did you buy it, anon?
Bump for the bump lord
Everyone and their mother got it during the humble bundle sale which gave you for copies for $1.
As for the game, I think everyone here likes it to a degree but it frequently gets compared to RO2.
I just added some cool new workshop/mods to it (still a pain because still have to use snd_restart to apply) which is really a great addition to the game.
I need more realism mods, currently have:

Hadn't played this game much in the past 6 months, was glad to see people still praise god during round start
Let me ask you something, /v/.
For a second, let's forget piracy is a thing. Let's just assume you can't get whatever games you want for free. You have to pay for titles.
You want to play a game from the SNES. Or an old DOS game. Maybe something on the Neo Geo? It doesn't matter, it's old is the point.
You either can't afford to buy it or don't own the system, either way something is stopping you from picking it up for the original format. It's being released on the Wii U's virtual console, or steam through emulators,...

Depends on the game, depends if it's literally just running on an emulator or if it has anything new like HD remastering.
I think I paid $3 for some genesis roms on an official Sega emulator on iOS because I'm an idiot that wanted to play Golden Axe 3 in an official way? I'll pay maybe up to $5 for literally a rom of a 16 bit game running in an emulator I guess. I mean yes those games came out for $60 or whatever at the time, but they're old as shit now and even modern games drop in price over time.
>>322118001
The pricing is completely arbitrary because the digital distributor was not involved in the financial process that created the game. They're just selling access to someone else's data.
I'd hesitate to make an exact number for something like that but I'd put my absolute upper limit at $15 with $10 being the most I'd pay for 90% of titles, and obviously preferring to pay less on many as well.
I don't get this notion that just because something is old it isn't worth paying for anymore.

What about something like Nintendo releasing Nintendo-made NES games on eshop?
Daily reminder. If someone breaks into your bank account and steals your money if you get your bank to correct the situation according to /v/ you are entitled.
So if you happen to have your steam account broken into your entitled.. When did /v/ become so toxic?
>>322117714
This has been a problem for a few years it only recently its begun to take shape, what's funny is that because of that if you require help suddenly your branded as entitled and such.

whats wrong with the poo pic?
Dark Souls is so fucking casual compared to Demon's Souls and Bloodborne.
>bonfires every ten feet
>estus flasks automatically refilled each time
Let's say you die in Dark Souls trying to defeat a boss. You go back to the nearest bonfire with all your health restored, ready to make another attempt. If you die ten times, it's the same each time, other than the initial loss of souls. Compare that to Demon's Souls/Bloodborne.
>shortcuts, not checkpointsComment too long. Click here to view the full text.
In demon's souls you can just farm grass until you have 90 of each
actually you don't even need to farm for it since they give the best kind away so freely in the last 2 areas of castle
>>322206679
That's a dumb argument, because you could theoretically farm souls in any of the games. The point is that nobody likes farming. It's a chore.
>>322206679
Farming is a punishment for dying. In a sense you're proving OP right.
Meanwhile getting back all your flasks and having your HP stuck in full even when you die isn't punishing at all. Its rewarding you for being bad.
We know piracy really hurt pc gaming .( When was the last time we had a AAA pc-exclusive title from a major publisher? Crysis was the last and it sold so poorly it got ported to consoles.)
Sony said piracy really hurt psp software sales.
No console has ever failed because of piracy.
The reason piracy is the excuse a lot of the time is because:
- it takes time and effort to gather reliable statistics about the volume of piracy
- it's difficult to prove, and therefore to prove wrong, that without piracy the potential customer would have become an actual customer
- it places the blame on anything but the console developer who wants to appear competent and maintain its brand's quality
the ps1 era had more modded playstations than anything else, at least here in britain anyway (you got an explorer type thing from magazines too) the playstation brand flourished despite that
i still have my chipped playstation, its put away though
Piracy actually saved the PSP or at least prevented it from being a total flop like the Vita
It went from no games to the ultimate pocket emulation device, at least before android was a thing
which do you prefer
Fusion or Zero Mission?
It's an apple an orange situation but I'd say ZM.
Higher replayability whereas Fusion's hand holding probably gets frustrating for consecutives runs.
>>322117317
I prefer Fusion. I'm sure that there's plenty of arguments in favor of ZM, but the thing is, I still really enjoy the original NES Metroid, so ZM seems kind of pointless to me whereas Fusion is a completely different game.
Zero Mission by quite a long way.
A lame out-of-place stealth section and piss-easy bosses are a lot more bearable forced linear progression with almost no backtracking alowed and having to contend with one of the most boring AI characters in the history of fiction.
