Tell me /v/ if companys don't care about their old consoles and their games why don't they just create an emulator for it instead of porting the games?
Surely that would be easier.

There's a lot of ecchi or just straight up porn on the internet, i dont need to play a game to get my dick hard
If you were a dev, how would you make a game? I don't think I'd make a good vidya dev because I lack professionalism and leadership.
What does it take to become a game developer?
I have no work ethic or critical thinking ability, so burning through money and constant delays would probably be my way of developing games.
>>322647557
constant delays sounds like a lack of motivation or something like that

Every fucking JRPG does this at least once. Am I being trolled?

Just quit my job as a QA drone at Sega, and was none to pleased with how they treated me. Therefore, have some Sonic 25th Anniversary spoilers.
Sonic Team had been putting together 2 games for the 25th anni, one of them is a full-3D game made by the sub-division that made Sonic Generations, and the other one is a 2D sidescroller made by the sub-division that made Sonic Colors and Lost World. The 3D one is officially titled "Sonic Adventure 3", and plays kind of how the other two did. Yeah, they've been aware that a small bit of the Sonic fanbase wanted Sonic Adventure 3, so they made it. Unfortunately, those games aren't all that great. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a big fan of Sonic and played the games a lot as a kid, which is why it was hard to quit this job, but you gotta do what you gotta do, I guess.
SA3 plays closer to the first one, where you can pick 6 characters with their own stories. The characters this go round are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver and Sticks. (you read that right) Sonic's gameplay is pretty much copypasta from SA2, with lots of speed boosters, rails and half-pipes to spindash through. It's actually pretty fun. Tails plays like a mix between his SA1 gameplay where he's similar to Sonic but can fly, but he also has some yellow handgun that looks like that tablet he carries around. He targets enemies like in SA2 when he was in that blue mech shooter, only with the mobility of SA1. Also pretty fun.
>>322643451
Going to need proof before i bother reading your shit
Knuckles is treasure hunting, but they fixed the issue in SA2 where you could only target one emerald at a time. The hint system is based off of Omochao pointing out the general direction of the emerald. Shadow's is probably the most fun, playing kind of like Jet Set Radio with a spin attack. Shadow can grind on rails, shred against walls with his skates and charge into enemies. He can't spindash though, probably as a way to make him less similar to Sonic. Silver is basically a faster version of himself from Sonic 2006, but with a spin jump. He is probably the slowest...

Are Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma JRPGs or WRPGs?
I've read the following thesis somewhere on the internet (on a very reputable site of course).
>Just because it's made in Japan doesn't make it a JRPG, a hamburger made in Japan doesn't mean that a hamburger is an original Japanese cuisine.
>JRPGs are called that because that's where they originated, not because they can only made in Japan, JRPGs have a distinct feel and play style that breaks them apart from WRPG, therefor Dragon's Dogma and Dark Souls for that matter aren't JRPGs, but WRPGs.
What do you say, /v/?
JRPGs with western inspired world design.
>>322643396
Action RPGs.
It's a western rpg by a Japanese dev.
Finally finished Paper Mario - Thousand Year Door. I have also finished Super Paper Mario before that (which I personally love despite being super easy), so it's now time for the original Paper Mario.
>>322642816
The original paper Mario is my favorite game of all time, fantastic from front to back. I just wish thousand year door and the original weren't the only good games in the series. Everything else is literally disgusting
>>322643996
What's wrong with Super Paper Mario? And don't tell me about its difficulty, Kirby is easy too and people love it.
>"Buut...it's a platform game and not rpg like the previous games."
Still it has the charm of the rpg series. Also it's a nice change and the gameplay is quite fresh and enjoyable.
>>322644370
It just wasn't a paper Mario game. Simple as that. Awesome game, played it to death and 100%'d everything but it just wasn't a paper Mario game. It also started the trend of the series diverging from the original format and thus ruining the series. What I mean is Super Paper Mario lead to Sticker Star which lead to Paper Jam.
Every game after TTYD has no concept of what the first two in the series were. Again I'll say it again SPM was a great game, just wasn't a paper Mario at all....

It amazes me how people use that site socially like that. I don't remember ever just searching for videos, shit I watch on YouTube are usually always just links I follow. Being able to comment and give the video praise is cool and all, but replying to each other weeks later sounds like snail mail.

Big deal, he's a pipsqueak.
>Don't get cocky, Snake. Mac's lightning-fast and his punches hit like trucks. If he fills up his power meter, he'll hit you with a KO uppercut. One hit from that and you're as good as dead.

Help /v/, can I get a second opinion on what Final Fantasy 4 game I should play, never played The After Years sequel.
I've beaten the GBA version years ago but now that the DS version is on steam with the sequel I'm wondering if it's a good remake or not
I heard that they have a customization system for characters so it doesn't feel like it adds nothing to the table. Also heard the difficulty spike makes it fun if you're looking for a challenge.
But I'm conflicted on getting the PSP Complete version instead. Does the PSP version have the new 'Augment' system like the DS version?
>>322641351
>Does the PSP version have the new 'Augment' system like the DS version?
No
>I'm wondering if it's a good remake or not
It's the best Final Fantasy port on Steam, but that's not saying much.
>Also heard the difficulty spike makes it fun if you're looking for a challenge.
There's just normal and hard mode, nothing too difficult.
Pirate it on PC first...

just a comparison pic
I feel like the DS version will feel like it will add something more dynamic to the cutscenes, models don't look that bad, I can get by them (better than 3's).
On the other hand, I love the sprite work in the PSP versions
>>322641351
PSP version is based on the old GBA version which in turn is based on american SNES version just with added content.
The SNES version was known as "EasyType" while Jap was "HardType". That's because American version was made massively easier.
Since it's based on the GBA version (which was based on SNES) it has all the SNES limitations as well such as only max 50 item count of one item and limited inventory space as well as various bugs in mechanics and is obviously much easier.
DS/Mobile/PC...

Why?
Because of the time, since it's not that much of an issue really.
>>322640579
It's honestly little things that boil together. The fact that only certain items can be kept unless they're stored. Many of the dungeons bored me and none of the puzzles stood out to me as amazing. First dungeon is a prime example honestly. The map, the compass, and the bow are all obtained by being locked in a room and fighting an enemy. Not even a unique enemy, minus the bow, just an enemy. I enjoyed the masks but the at the end of the day they were more of a mere gimmick to me. It just seemed like...
