It's pretty much universally agreed that the episodes Lynch directed are the best ones. It's weird how this show seemed to exist on two levels of quality, ranging from okay-tier to bad-tier normally, then suddenly jumping to totally God-tier whenever Lynch was in the director's chair. Hoping for great things from the revival if he's seriously directing every episode. Praying he hasn't lost it.
Also, how do you think he's going to use all those musicians announced in the revival cast? I almost want to assume they'll just appear to perform songs at the night club, but it would be cool to see them act. Sharon Van Etten is a world class qt, and for some reason I can't get the image of current-day Trent Reznor playing a mild-mannered small town sheriff's deputy out of my head.
Is Michael J. Anderson going to be in the new Season? I hope he is, the guy made the show for me.

I never get scared at horror films, or any jump scare bullshit, but the finale of twin peaks generally fucking scared me in an amazing way that only Lynch has been able to pull off. It was like the wool was lifted from your eyes and you saw the true darkness of twin peaks and how it could corrupt even the purest of souls like coop. Now he's been trapped there for 20 years and I think he won't even be a main character anymore, there's going to be other fbi agents trying to uncover the mystery once they dig up some old case files about twin peaks. Since The Man From Another Place is MIKE's evil side, a manifestation of that severed arm, he should technically be pure evil.
But we also know MIKE had been lying to the investigation from the start, since in FWWM we see that he knew Leland was BOB. So MIKE is self-serving and wasn't truthful with Cooper. So it's not as simple as MIKE being a helpful spirit and The Man From Another Place being an evil spirit. But neither are pure good.

I'm as good as 100% certain it won't be shit. Remember Lynch has co-written and directed every episode, and the one who put some brain behind most of the plotting and dialogue, Frost, has co-written everything as well.
And a source from the set has said that it will make Eraserhead look like a Sunday School project.
My only fear is that it won't provide the exact ending and character progress that I'd prefer or be the 'second coming' of almost spiritual significance that some seem to demand (not many shows could live up to those demands anyway).. . but I'm sure that it'll at least most likely be the best show of the last 5 years or so.. (not that it's saying much.)

The show deliberately made the town feel timeless, it never really felt like the 90's more like quasi 50's. The tone and aesthetics draw from the fact that it's not tied to the modern world so there's no way they'd change one of the things that makes the show so memorable and unique.

A common theory is that BOB wanted to keep all the garmonbozia for himself so they had to use Cooper to catch BOB so they could get it back...and that's why they helped him. Garmonbozia is a symbol of /created from pain and suffering.
MIKE seems to be needing / wanting the thing still even though he ripped off his arm, either for the reason he stated or for some other reason (that LMFAP is indeed his arm is confimed by FWWM where they take the garmonbozia from BOB).
