Did anyone else watch the pilot? I'm someone who absolutely loved Eastbound & Down. But this was wack as fuck right? Didn't laugh once. HBO seems to be shucking and jiving and shilling as usual. There seem to be positive reviews. Did actually think this was funny ?

Casting was great, the story is promising, the jokes were good without being over the top or falling flat once. I honestly loved it, can't see why anyone wouldn't. It's leagues above most of the other lame ass 30 minute comedy series on tv right now.

Danny McBride is the best comedic actor working today, with Craig Robinson being a close second.
Nobody delivers their lines with the commitment that fucker has.
The episode was good, and this series will be another classic.
I only like Danny McBride in small doses. He works well with a small amount of screentime. Any more than that and it's usually just screaming and saying a bunch of curse words in fragmented sentences for the next 45 minutes. Haven't seen Eastbound & Down, so my views are subject to change.
I personally thought it was great. Sure, it doesn't start as strongly as Eastbound and Down but it has promise. Also glad to see Shea Whigham is still getting work.
Painfully unfunny. Given the principals (no pun intended) past work I'm hoping it will get better, but frankly I saw little reason for optimism.
I dug it alot. Really good duo, left me wanting to watch more. Thought it was a good pilot and can't wait for future episodes

The pilot was mediocre.
It provided little to no backstory of either main character or why Danny McBride's character acts like he does.
He is playing essentially the same character from Eastbound and Down.
I also don't understand the point of the car he drives either. Vice Principles make a decent higher end middle income.
I will still watch it, but no way is it near any of the rave reviews people are giving it.
It was OK. Comedy pilots are rarely ever funny, but there's promise. Now that McBride and Goggins characters have teamed up it should provide more laughs.
