Honestly I cant understand why people praise Monoke Hime so much.
>>72106207

>>72106370
>Monoke Hime

>>72105754
That engine placement triggers me.
Porco Rosso as well but Whisper of the Heart has a special place for me
>>72106207
You never been on the adriatic sea/coast, right?
The Wind Rises objectively
Totoro subjectively
I dont know wich one I like monr, but I fucking hate Howl Moving Castle.
Plot was so disjointed and characters are so unlikeable that is imposible to me uderstand the apeal.
>>72105754
Porco Rosso as well, live the way you want to and fly whenever you want to really have this
incomparable charm to people
im lazy to make a new thread, but this seems a bit related.
i want to say that tv tricked me into watching "the best" anime film "Akira".
Spirited away is literally miles better than that convulted piece of shit.
akira is no more than a 7/10 film
6 years ago maybe, a period of my life i remember fondly, my days would look like this.
>Live together with a bunch of friends
>Spring
>Wake up
>Go outside
>Smoke a bowl of weed
>Go for a long walk, listening to music
>Visit the library, rent some moviesThey had a suprisingly kino selection
>Go to my favorite bakery
>Buy some fresh confectionery
>Go home, watch movies
>Friends would come home from work
>We'd do fun shit together
>bed
>repeat
There was a week or two where i saw the entire ghibli collection. I remember liking Porco Rosso, Totoro, That badger movie. I also like The Cat Prince, but i can see how thats a meme movie. Least favorite was probably Ponyo, but i liked that as well.
God damn those days were good. I didnt realize how happy i was.

Totoro is subjectively your personal favorite?
Porco Rosso is top tier
fucking weebs
>>72107138
>Those machine gun holes.
>>72106500
>That engine placement triggers me.
That's the optimal placement for a single-engine seaplane, anon.
I've been going through his films chronologically. Porco is up next. My favorite so far is Nausicaa.
Raising daughters and a girl's coming of age didn't resonate with me.
Spirited Away
I know it's not a popular opinion here because it's the most mainstream Miyazaki movie due to winning an Oscar, but it really is the best one.
>>72105754
Porco Rosso is pretty great.
Kiki's Delivery Service will always be my favourite, though.
>>72107483
Considering how poorly WWI planes were built and how they were designed, no it isn't.
Howl's Moving Castle was great to me, I liked the characters and the whole message in it.
>>72107939
Scarebro represent!
>>72107570
if you like Nausicaa, then you will love Porco. Miyazaki's love of airplanes obviously makes for his best films. The cool thing about Porco Rosso is most of the plane designs in the film were tested as models and actually work.

>ww1
This takes place in 1930. Between 1920 and 1930 planes made a great jump in advancement naming the decade the "golden age of air". This was also a time when the PBY and other great seaplanes were invented with similar styles shown off in Porco Rosso, all flew wonderfully but most weren't meant for combat.
Future Boy Conan > any film he ever made
>>72107056
>God damn those days were good. I didnt realize how happy i was.
pls anon, stop
>>72107808
This tbqh familia
>errbody a BAMF
>all have good motivations for their struggle against each other.
Princess Mononoke the best imo.
>>72107138
God damn, I could watch that webm all day. The animation and style is great. What happened to modern animation?
>>72111445
Nothing happened, anime movies with decent budgets and good animators are still around.
They just stopped using cel animation.
>>72106951
You should read the manga, it's amazing how much they cut out for the movie.
