Arya is a fan favorite, so she can do whatever she wants.
Can someone explain to me why Jaqen let her go? I understand the trope of "ah the real test was for you to disobey orders," but that's not what is going on here. The faceless just goes batshit opposite for no reason other than to push Arya's character forward.
Forget the stabbing, or that she's now an expert assassin (she did train), but her arc is a mess.

Dude she defeated him. This is still Game of Thrones of course so it's a little darker in tone but it's still the same ending. If it were a nice classic cheesy show he would have bowed down to her and said "Well done Arya Stark, you may continue you quest."
She defeated her assassin and then came back and had him dead to rights. He's still a tough guy so that's why he went up to the sword ready to die but she left in respect.
The end is still the same no matter what, she completed the challenge, there just wasn't a celebration for it.
