OFFICIAL /who/ AUDIO PROJECT UPDATE RETURNING FROM BREAK

Foreman 1.01 - Nirvi
Scripts here: http://doctorwhogeneral.wikia.com/wiki/Foreman#The_Leaked_Scripts

Parts recorded: The Doctor, Goggles, Axons/Axos, Excited Girl/Boy, Chris, Pharmacist, First Student, Ravers, UNIT Corporal, Bookish Man, White & Black Guardians
Full character sheet & FAQ: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-PGtpxU04cGqBcAd49d7b4q_fiCITDn-q9RuHe4O92I/edit?usp=sharing

PARTS STILL AVAILABLE:

MAJOR:
>Nirvi Chandratreya, “brittle” independent biracial feminist former-Muslim atheist politics student etc.
(only stipulations: at least a somewhat feminine voice to distinguish this from literally every other character + British accent, quality optional)
"I was attacked by a tentacle monster and saved by an alien who looks like a lanky white boy. Can’t get shocked after a night like that."

>Alex Starling, "fiery" young man and Nirvi's 'emotional rock', sexually ravenous party animal, disorganised, difficult past
"Three-hundred year old space alien with razor cheekbones AND he makes a killer sandwich? You hold onto this one, Nirvi."

MINOR:
>Grace Butterworth, an 'oldish white woman' who gives lectures (4 lines, Ep. 1)
"So we can take it as read that suffrage was an essential aspect of the political landscape in the following century. As soon as women entered the game --"

>Dozy, young man who is rude in the lecture (3 lines, Ep. 1)
"You don't get to mouth off to me, you stupid--"

>Chris, a 'well-sculpted white boy' who Nirvi finds in Alex's room (4 lines, Ep. 1)
"Uh... Chris. Sorry, she said you wouldn’t be back for another hour, and --"

>Second Student, who the Doctor finds high as balls and experiencing 'extreme cognition' from the effects of the Axons' drug (11 lines, Ep. 3)
"Axis XYZ... W is time. Look at it, right? You can’t see time."

>UNIT Guardsmen 1 and 2 (1 line each, Ep. 4)

To volunteer for a part, just post in the thread and/or email [email protected].
>>
>>71991057
Oh yeah, my bad. I forgot Chris already got recorded, pretend he isn't on the available list.
>>
>>71990999
It probably is. I also remember he gave an early Flatline review.

>I remember the supposed "12 beatboxes" scene. That was hilarious.
I don't remember that. Reminds me of the TOTD scene though. Jenna said Capaldi tried out a bunch of different ideas for his first scene and apparently in one he decided to break dance. Sounds hilarious. I don't think it got filmed though.

>Peter when he walked on the classic TARDIS, he had thought about ‘How am I going to run this? Am I going to be like William Hartnell or not?’ And he had thought that through and he said “I try not, you know, I’m trying, I am my own Doctor.’ but it seemed important to know, to remind himself of the actual vocabulary of what William Hartnell did before.

>At one point he just, he did an entire…this is where you go crazy ‘cos you just wish you had just taped everything going on, every rehearsal, every time and…at one point he did a full on William Hartnell version of it and those things are lost in the ether and are just, you know, wonderful moments that you can’t believe the good luck in your life that you got to observe that.

It's getting a bit Orford-y in here.

Did RTD and Moffat plan their overarching plots throughout their runs? Because the moment you stop to think about them they're actually quite clever.

Like how the Master's return in Utopia was actually caused by the Daleks exterminating Captain Jack in The Parting of the Ways/trying to invade future Earth causing Rose to look into the time vortex and bring him back to life, or even by Captain Jack's gambit in The Empty Child. Or even by the Doctor meeting Rose in the first place. If Jack'd never been resurrected by Rose, then the TARDIS would've never gone to the end of the universe trying to escape him in Utopia and they'd never have met the Master. So the events in RTD's final episodes were caused by the events in his first.

Moffat, being wacky, is different and reversed. The events in the Eleventh Doctor's FINAL episode actually cause the events in his FIRST.

And they're all related to the Time War somehow, which was caused by Genesis of the Daleks. All the major overarching plots in NuWho were actually set in motion in 1975, except arguably Torchwood. If they'd had a throwaway line in Tooth & Claw about the werewolf terrorising Queen Vic being a refugee from the Time War or something then even that would fall under this massive Terry Nation umbrella of causing everything.

>So the events in RTD's final episodes were caused by the events in his first.
I mean, that's kind of how shows with overarching plots tend to work out. Not likely it was planned that way.

>The events in the Eleventh Doctor's FINAL episode actually cause the events in his FIRST.
That one is actually a bit clever.

> the Time War somehow, which was caused by Genesis of the Daleks.
That is a headcanon.
>>
>>72002468
It's a quasi-official one ever since RTD came out and said it.

> Executive producer Russell T Davies commented in an episode of Doctor Who Confidential that the origins of the Time War date back to this story, where the Time Lords struck first. Davies also made reference to this attempted genocide as a root of the Time War in a text piece in the Doctor Who Annual 2006. The 2013 comic strip COMIC: Hunters of the Burning Stone recreates a scene from this story, and the Eleventh Doctor explicitly describes it as him firing "the first shot" in the Time War.

It's actually pretty solid, I'm really enjoying it.

It's got a fantastically Gothic feel to it.

if it were a touch more violent, it'd fit right in with the hinchcliffe era.

actually, invisible enemy aside, this series is making a rather smooth transition from hinchcliffe to willams style of stories.
