The premise of this movie is flawed. Okay if the guy was an adventurous millionaire or something but who wants to watch Joe Schmoe go about his daily life? It would have to be peppered with scripted events to be watchable.

If the movie was real, most people would probably be against something like it and not watch it, but really the movie itself explains its appeal. People love the uplifting stories and drama it gives to their boring lives.
I think most of all you have to think of the movie as being more of a dystopic sci-fi movie where people people don't care that a corporation adopted a child and broadcasts his life in a fake world 24/7 and pretty much everyone is obsessed with the show.
