Not enough Jet Li, weirdly enough. Also, the fact that Riggs was basically turning into Murtaugh 2.0 didn't help matters. If I remember correctly, Murtaugh even gives Riggs a hard time about that when he finds out Riggs is about to become a father. "Looks like YOU'RE gettin' too old for this shit now, too!"
Take the edge off of Riggs, there's just not much else left.

I think it was a good note to end on. Riggs, the lethal weapon, eventually got too old for it too. It humanized him.
I think my favorite scene though was in the middle of the Jet Li fight where he snaps Riggs's arm out of the socket, unaware that popping it in and out is a signature trick of his. So he gets caught unaware when Riggs suddenly pummels the fuck out of him with his "dislocated" arm and uppercuts him.
It was a little throwback, but it stuck with me.

I liked that, actually. Riggs facing his age was an amazing aspect to the movie. I didn't even mind Pesci's character that much surprisingly.

But it's the perfect series. All the movies are good, all of them built on what came before without putting characters back to square one or giving them the same arc they already had before.
Dat ending to 4 at his wife's grave and the credits like a family album was the perfect ending to a great series.
