Jonah could definitely pull off the "geek" of the squad in the way he has done so in other films, but even still I'm not sure I want to see him again.

It could all work, but the script would have to play way up the idea that these people are academic failures- like it was touched on in the original.
Ferrell could do a Fenkman- sleazy old guy but never gets the easy college lay and resorts to the plan C of his other buddy.. still thinking don't know which one yet.
Carrey could do an Egon, but a way more cynical version, a deep brooding kind of menace to the groups healthy outlook on things, that might work.
Hart, I like him too but do resent him a a tiny way how he's followed in all the greats footsteps, Pryor, Murphy, Rock. It's stupid, just my hang-up. And I can't make him fit either. I know, make him the Dean that kicks them out of Columbia, then gets kicked out himself and is forced to join them.
Hill I just never liked, but he is pretty good. How to do it? Fine, he's the son of a guy like Ray- son of an occult book store owner who is famous for being a satanist, like really famous, and sees no other way to separate himself from the bad press other than to prove its real.
