meanwhile Roose and Ramsay have the castle of Winterfell, but are surrounded by conspirers, Manderlys and Freys have the largest armies but they're at each others throats so Roose has to send them to fight Stannis, the Ryswells and Dustins aren't too trustworthy, and the Karstark plan has been foiled.
other things of note: Davos is likely returning with an army of Skagosi and Rickon Stark, and Petyr Baelish, Harrold Hardyng and Sansa Stark may be marching North sometime.
it looks like Stannis could manage to win this, but things have to go wrong for him.
