Ever notice how hacks rely on violence in their movies?

why is the guy from finding nemo killing the man from Robocop
there is literally no point in watching a movie if it doesn't have at least of these:
gunfight
car chase
kung fu battle
lubed up wrestling match
shoot-out
stabbing with a fork
sounds like you know jack shit about kinema OP

So am I

In their defense, violence is fun as fuck to film.
>>71915093
Give good examples of movies with no violence. No children movies

>>71916095
>is a childrens movie
>has violence in it

Driving Mrs Daisy
>>71915497
Amadeus
The Insider
yeah
>>71915093
The violence in Drive is so beautifully shot though.
>>71915093
I thought from the thumbnail it was Gordon Ramsay stabbing some chef or restaurant owner or someone.

See, it's not even about just throwing violence into the mix to make it seem sophisticated. It's just that more mature and more sophisticated films don't shy away from mature themes such as sex, violence, substance abuse and so on unlike films that are targeted for a more general audience.

IT'S FUCKING RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR
>>71915093
When it comes to screenwriting I think writers who use too much profanity is a sign of a hack.
I have no issue with cursing but you watch a movie and every other word is "fuck" and it just screams I can't write realistic or engaging dialogue so I'll just pad it with swears. When a character curses it should have impact and reason for it.
As for violence I don't mind when it has a place in the story. Fuck movies with gore porn where the entire thing is just an excuse to play with effects and see how much gore you can get past the MPAA.

What about movies with comedically excessive gore? Y'know, like Sam Raimi's stuff.
