this is as good as it gets for him. appear in several high profile indies, several high profile cable series, and forever be remembered as that goof from Boardwalk Empire. quite a good career. i doubt he can carry a show by himself so that's out of the question. he definitely can be a compelling part of an ensemble, though. he'll fit right in those Deadwood features HBO is mulling over.
