Lex plays both of them against each other, largely to deal with Superman. He fails. Executes order 66 and makes Doomsday. Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman team up to take him down. Superman dies in the process, but not really.

Batman doesn't like Superman because he saw him destroy things and is scared of him.

There's a rich, gay man, possibly on drugs, who doesn't believe in God and wants other people not to believe in God.
There's a woman who sneaks around looking like a solid 7 and all moody, turns out she is magic or something. And there's another woman who fucking sucks at journalism and fails to properly investigate and report on a major government cover-up, but that cover up might have been more gay man antics, hard to tell because the bitch can't do journalism and is asking the wrong officials and the movie spends a whole lot of fucking time on this story even though it doesn't involve Batman and only partially involves Superman.

Bruce Wayne after recovering from the horrific events of seeing his best friend Robin die by the Joker's hands, begins a journey into deep dark depression which causes him to kill majority of his enemies. He cannot appreciate anything anymore and when he witnesses Superman who he believes was responsible for the destruction of a city: believes that Superman is the real threat and tries to destroy him.
When Superman says the name "Martha", Batman/Bruce remembers the last dying breaths of his father which were those exact words: Martha being Batman/Bruce's mother's names.
Batman/Bruce realizes the true enemy that he has become, as he is standing on Superman's neck as Superman says this word. This causes Batman/Bruce to change his actions and promise to Superman to save his mother (trying to recover from all the damage that he has done to others and to feeling guilty now for almost killing Superman).
Together they bond to take down Lex's Doomsday. Batman/Bruce now acknowledges of what the real threat is; and due to getting a vision by the Flash: he must now avenge Superman's death by finding the Justice League team to bring true balance to both Gotham and Metropolis.
