Well how come !? It is really like Avengers, Power Rangers, or Justice League except those members that make the squad are super bad to the bone. The issue here is how they depict the outcome that is so good even though they are doing what they are good at most. I think thing comes out colorful if they don't screw up on the twist.

The comics is much more than that. The idea is more "these people are expendable, they have talents, and we have leverage, so use them instead of our own soldiers." It also delved more into the moral irony of have bad people doing good things, and the interactions of said bad people.
