You guys ever see the 1948 musical The Pirate? It has a song called Be a Clown that is pretty much an exact ripoff of Make Em Laugh and the movie is also by MGM. Pretty cool if you like B musicals or are into pirate stuff at all but it's interesting to see MGM try to do a cashgrab like that

Most all of the songs are from earlier films my MGM they are pretty much recycling music slapping on lyrics and trying to make them fit into one bit movie.
Which is why I say Singing In The Rain is a disjointed and strung together.
