I'm new to /tv/. it's all fun and games and interesting, but I'm still confused about one thing : why do /tv/ hates Sunshine and Even Horizon. I think both are pretty good movies tbqh. Why am I wrong ?

heres a simple rule about /tv/:
whatever you are for, /tv/ is against.
if you want real discussions about topics, wait til the American children on this board are asleep, so after approximately 10pm EST, you can post

But /tv/ loves Sunshine and Event Horizon. I only ever see people praising them.

This. The night time is the right time.
Also
If /tv/ likes it, it's shit
If /tv/ hates it, it's shit they won't stop talking about
If /tv/ doesn't care it's probably a good movie.
Never confuse kino, flick, cinema, movie, or picture. If you don't know the difference leave and don't come back until you do.

Kid, please...
I don't remember much of Event Horizon, as I watched it as a kid.
But I know why I don't like, or rather don't completely like Sunshine. The shift in tone for the third act doesn't fit. I like horror movies, I like costumbrist movies, and I can like an admixture of both. In this case it's so poorly handled, though.
Just imagine: what if the 2 first thirds of the film were the same, and the third part turned into a lol weed Seth Rogen comedy? The same applies.
Great music and visuals though.
