The hero stance? That is a manner of standing that both men and women do as heroes, and often in athletic sporting events. A particular way in which a person stands is not exclusive to any gender.
If the stand is all that you have as an example, then yes it is fine. Not necessarily cute, but suitable.

It's public Network TV, you can't expect much. If it were a premium cable channel such as HBO, Showtime, or Starz I'd complain but you simply cannot expect much from ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, or CW.
Maybe if it were on a cable channel, maybe but everything on network TV will be plain, bland constructed to please the most boring viewing audience in America other than those watching religious channels.
When they make network TV show, it is almost like writing soap operas. They literally have to fill a 45 minutes programming between commercial break with story that doesn't go anywhere but to kick the can to the next episode.

Believe it or not the amount of 'feminist" undertones of Supergirl was pretty tame.
