Kenneth Branagh did nothing wrong.
He did nothing right either...

Nigga thinks he's Orson Welles but he's made nothing but shit for the past 10 years.
I'm sick of Shakespeare adaptations set in different time periods from the play.
>tfw your career peaks in your first movie and it's all been downhill since then

Branagh's decline is like nothing else I can think of. Most over-the-hill directors still make some good movies.

The Magic Flute (2006) was a bomb
Sleuth (2007) was a bomb and a flop with critics.
Thor (2011) was a hit, but a flop with critics- and Marvel kept him on a tight leash. Those aren't director's movies, they're Kevin Feige movies.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014) was a bomb and a flop.
Cinderella (2015) did ok, but who gives a shit?
How about giving us a good version of Titus, senpai? Or The Tempest?

Laurence Olivier
You fucking pleb
>>71781339
Olivier's films weren't set in alternate time periods, you moron.
>I make movies about Shakespeare and cast myself as the lead every time
>I'm such a great actor, r-right guys? I mean, look at all my classic starring roles!

Henry V is one of the greatest movies of all time still so he'll always have that

But he really was great and brilliant in his time. Why not get back to that- he can't use the excuse nobody gives a shit about Shakespeare anymore.
They did a Broken Crown mini-series on the BBC a few years ago- an adaptation of Shakespeare's 3 or 4 late histories all set in chronological order to tell a continuing story. It was a big hit. I don't know why Kenny isn't doing shit like that. Or what about doing a version of Paradise Lost, or some Moliere? The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser? Johnson's Volpone play? George Peele plays?
