I was watching the making of features for Amazing Spiderman other day actually and they mentioned about how Peter literally took sports ball skins, a bottom of a shoe skin for his shoes.
It may not seem easy for a student to sow it all together but then it looks much nicer on the screen than the new costume even if it may be more realistic.

Parts of it look like it was definitely a kid in a costume, but other parts looked awfully like CG to me. I mean it is Marvel Studios after all, they've CG'd Iron Man's entire suit, so I don't see how them doing spidey in CG is so out of the picture. Previously sony did it in Amazing Spiderman for those swinging shots. If anything there will be even more CG.
