My favorite is Stand By Me.
>>
I know the obvious response, but how is it not The Shining. Despite the idiots in Room 237, the movie is undoubtedly deep and memorable. It's one of those films that gives back what you bring to it, so of course retard conspiracy theorist sees illuminati and moonlanding shit in every scene.

I had a good idea for a Stephen King movie, I think. You know how he lets film school kids adapt his work for their projects, legally he has to accept some kind of payment so he just asks for a dollar because he's a nice guy.

So any, this one film student, he adapts one of King's gayer novels, like Rose Madder or that handcuff book, and he does really well, maybe it even goes viral and he becomes a hot up and comer, but he never pays King because he figured it was just a joke, since the guy is rich as shit and a dollar isn't a big deal.

But it turns out it is a big deal, and King starts stalking him and trying to ruin his life, all the while being a big weirdo alcoholic creep. Maybe the guy looks out his window one night and sees King on his motorcycle staring at him while drinking. I think it would be very spooky because King is already a big weirdo creep. Maybe work in a monologue where he menacingly explains the significance of the kiddie gangbang in IT while holding the main character at gunpoint and forcing him to strip.

It writes itself imo
>>
>>71748356
Oh, you just saw it on the Telly, and wrote through memory? I though you actually copy-pasted it from the story. (That's more like fan fiction). Be more careful, next time.

It's not really that big a deal. The East would think pretty much only comes up in the forward written by Stephen King. Susan or detta talks about him being white a few times, but it's not actually that important for the plot.

sleepwalkers was an original screenplay by king but it has cat people mother/son incest and corn as a murder weapon therefore it is the best
>>
>>71750565
Yeah. In the book 1408, the guy picks up the phone and at least once the other end says something like "this is nine, NINE. All your friends are dead."

Which is exactly the same thing Roland, or maybe Eddie, hears on the phone in a Dogan in a later dark tower boom.

It might have even said "tak!" which is from The Regulators/Desperation

Pet Sematary's good. It's probably not the best since things like Shawshank and Green Mile exist but I have a strong nostalgic bond to this movie. It doesn't even have great acting or a script but goddamn the horror scenes are top notch and to date I've never seen a scarier movie than it.

>>71745728
I love that fucking movie.

>>71750148
elba is too young and he is too smooth

roland is old, very old, he could even be as old as the folks at river crossing just before they get to lud. roland is weathered with age too
>>
I think it's The Shining. I don't remember The Green Mile much but I know it was good (also the first King book I read). Shawshank Redemption is good too... But I'm not such a fan of prison movies.

It's between those three and Secret Window which I also really enjoyed. But The Shining is more polished and classy.

Yeah, I've always had the suspicion.

>>71755087

What's a King book you guys think is underrated? For me, it's the Tommyknockers. It gets shit on a lot but I think the parts where the townsfolk are just beginning to go insane are really good. King and write about shitty people in crummy towns losing their minds like nobody else. Heck, I'd pay good money for an actual history of Derry with all the murders, massacres and disappearances detailed.
>>
>>71755240
Granted it's a short story collection ( and honestly King is at his best in my opinion doing short stories) but nightmares and dreamscapes fucking rocked. Some of the stories weren't perfect, but most at least had a really cool premise.
>>
>>71755240
> just beginning to go insane are really good.
Used to be REAL big into King He's the one that got me into reading adult books in grade school, so I'll always have a soft spot for him, but this is what keeps me from going back and revisiting his work.
King just can't fucking help himself from spinning out of control half to three quarters of a way through most of his books.

"It's a moron movie" - Stephen King.
>>
>broken audio
>actors who don't understand their unrealistic characters
>terribly inconsistent score
>lots of scenes cut for unknown reasons
>pretty much a chick flick with a last second genre shift
>literally a movie about a girl PMSing for the first time
but dat cinematography

How can a film be so flawed yet so kino?
The Shining is objectively a better film, but for some reason I prefer this.

And that badass mob boss. He stole every fucking scene he touched.

Thinner is good for its over the topness. Weird that people don't mention it that often because it has some very memorable scenes.
Mob Boss is best character.
Gunning down gypsies.
Curse pie.
Also, "Acid, bitch!"

People really to need to rewatch it. Probably one of Stephen King's more underrated and enjoyable movies.
