How can you justify pirating movies?
>>
>>71720206
I download movies, delete them, then download them again to ensure studios lose as much money as possible.

I can't and I don't and I don't care

I see 2-3 movies in the theater per month. I'm curious as to whether your soulless big budget reboot/remake/sequel/etc is decent but I am damn sure not going to support it.

Bootleg copies of movies people sell on their own

I guess they're cheaper than regular ones but if you're going sleazy then why not just torrent it?

I want to stick to watching movies legally, I really do, but actually paying for a fucking movie after it completed its run in theaters is the stupidest thing possible.

By that logic, all the hundreds of movies I fail to go see each year also costs people their jobs. There's nothing special about piracy that takes money away from them. They either sell a ticket/DVD or they don't. Whether I pirate it or just ignore it, the outcome for their bottom line is the same.

Only truthful answer here
>>
>>71720206
Because no one can stop me from doing so
>>
Spent 15 years of my life working in movie theaters. Getting shit on by customers and home office. From slinging popcorn to cleaning up messes and finally to management where I made sure the money got accounted for, took the complaints, made sure we were adequately staffed, and ran projectors. Completely thankless. Worked my ass off to ensure customers had a great experience and movies made money for shit pay. Got fucked out of my vacation more than once. Shitty, if any, insurance benefits. Missed every holiday and weekend. Never saw friends and family with normal jobs.

This is just me, but I feel I've earned it.
>>
>>71720654
this, though I end up buying the 1% of movies I think are worthwhile supporting
>>
>>71720206
Hollywood cannot prove that pirated movies are a financial loss because the perpetrators probably wouldn't have bought them anyway. If anything, it helps, because it attracts more possible customers to the industry. Nobody wants to watch a shitty cam of a new movie that just hit the theaters.
>>
>>71720206
I worked for a company at Warner Bros. They wanted me to find an obscure comic book. I couldn't get a copy but told them I could download it. They said: illegally? I said: yeah. They said: Okay, do it at home.

Absolutely no regrets since then.
>>

>>
I remember watching some morning TV show and the two Stark girls from Game of Thrones was on it doing an interview. The hosts said something like "how do you feel that it's the most pirated show ever?" And one of them laughed it off and said "oh well even my brother pirates the episodes"

This is why I buy used at thrift stores and the like. If I pirate something and it's good, I will go look for it at the thrift stores after a few months. I have never paid more than $3 for a DVD and $6 for a blu-ray. Only serious faggots pay $20-$30 for a new copy.

If it wasn't for retards like my parents, this shit would have failed long ago and streaming services would have became the norm.

BUT, Murdoch has his filthy fingers in Foxtel(Fox), has his fingers in our internet infrastructure (Telstra, who he tells to keep our services primitive so streaming services don't make it), and buy exclusive rights to tv shows.

I hope this treasonous cunt dies on live television.

>How can you justify pirating movies?
I guess quite easily. An example: The raking in by studios of hundreds of millions of dollars is definitely partly due to video piracy.
Piracy is responsible for the massive turnover in studio profits in places like China.
Why?
Because when you're young in Beijing and your dad brings home an illegal copy of Ironman, you develop an appreciation for capeshit, with the result that when you're an adult working in the Apple factory for 18 hours a day, when the weekend comes, you spend your hard earned Yuan at the cinema and on capeshit.

Piracy: Everybody wins!

what comic book pliz?
>>
>>71720206
The alternative is that I just wouldn't watch the movie. By pirating, there is a chance that I'll recommend it to others in case it's good, increasing the reputation of those involved and possibly making another person spend money. The company can only benefit by my pirating.
>>
>>71720206
I'm pretty sure this person already got paid for whatever she did, and it would not change based on the box office result.

is the car you print out actually usable? or is just for show, a model
>>
OK, I'll try.

Hollywood is not a benevolent endeavor.

It can hardly be said that they sell stories or entertainment these days.

The product is now gimmicks that are haphazardly put together, items, organizations and destinations which are the sole focus and driving force for the movie and statements "correcting" my tastes towards popular media according to what a very vocal minority in one country declares.

They raise prices constantly while every year going to the movies is a less and less formal or special occasion.

After the year is done, they pick among themselves who to pat on the back and use those pats to sell more movies, because if they were congratulated by the academy previously they have a seal of quality that drives their salary up, leaving less for more essential aspects within the movie.

I see directors saying I am a horrible person for not wanting to see their movie.

I see millionaire actors complaining they don't make enough.

I see an industry going after copyright infringement asking for harder penalties than actual theft, embezzlement or even rape, portraying the person who illegally copied something as a criminal of the worst kind.

I see a vain and masturbatory industry that has never done one positive thing for humanity.

Honestly, I would feel worse about stealing some batteries than infringing on the copyrights of Hollywood movies.
>>
>>71734600

Actual protest would consist of not seeing the movies you despise so much.
When you want to watch them anyway your whole point is moot.
>>
>>71733180
Sounds like you live in the third world
>>
>>71720206
I'm jew, I own a bit part of every production, although not enough to receive the free copies.

I'm not stealing.
>>
>>71720206
>cost someone her job

So sme Canadian or Brit working on an American movie lost her job? Cry me a fucking river!

You're gonna need a better argument than that when considering Americans lose their jobs all the time due to foreign labor.
>>
>>71734654

Who said anything about protest?

I simply have no respect for the industry.

Any quality they put out is incidental. Maybe not accidental, but almost pure happenstance.

I try things without paying. It's not like I have a collection of illegally downloaded movies. But I don't pay because I'm almost certain it's not worth what they ask for, because the product isn't of quality, because it is unnecessarily over priced to cover needless production, marketing and casting costs.

I simply don't think it's worth that much, don't think they deserve any more money and have no respect for their approach either.

I'm withholding my money and respect, not my attention or opinion, the latter depending on the former.
>>
>The pirated movie you just bought
what
>>
>>71720206
Dat pic is wrong.
If the movie's finished, she already got paid.
>>
>>71734727
> But I don't pay because I'm almost certain it's not worth what they ask for

Yet you do watch it.

>I dont like going on holidays, most of the resorts are shite. I do steal the occasional plane ticket and squat in the resorts though, most of the time: the trips aren't worth the money.
>>
>>71722426
What?
You don't like clean burning lamp oil?
>>
>>71720206

I don't need to justify it, I don't want to pay for movies and there are no repercussions.
>>
>>71734816

I'll make it simple.

It's not worth that much. So I'm not paying it.

Now, my opinion on the matter depends on my attention.

I have to see movies to know if they are any good.

Your comparison is outlandishly inaccurate. Stealing a ticket means someone didn't get to fly. Copyright infringement is not theft, not by definition, not under the law, that is why there are separate laws and terms. Simply because two things are punished by the law does not mean they are the same. And considering the plethora of airlines, resorts and destinations, that wide variety in experience is not comparable to what Hollywood offers now.

To sum up, yes, I watch them, but I'm not willing to pay around $12 just to find out if something is good.

Because that is what has happened.

Hollywood has lost the confidence of the consumer and we are not willing to roll the dice anymore.

There is no reason the current business model must be.
>>
>>71729706
Literally everyone would download a car
>>
>>71732994
I'm pretty sure the idea is that they lose the money you would have payed and it devalues the movie monetarily
>>
>>71734987
>Your comparison is outlandishly inaccurate. Stealing a ticket means someone didn't get to fly. Copyright infringement is not theft, not by definition, not under the law, that is why there are separate laws and terms.

Such a retarded argument. Imagine the seat would be unoccupied anyway, would it be okay then?

>Gimme the food, you'll throw it out anyway
>Gimme a movieticket, the theatre isnt sold-out anyway
>Gimme the house, noone is living in it anyway

>To sum up, yes, I watch them, but I'm not willing to pay around $12 just to find out if something is good.

This argument also doesn't fly. It could be said for anything that you consume

>Ill eat here but wont pay, I dont know if its good
>Ill take a ride on the ferris wheel but wont pay, I dont know if its good
>Ill fuck you but wont pay, I dont know if its good.

Just accept that you're stealing and that that's wrong man, everybody does it.
>>
>>71720206
How can you justify charging money for propaganda and distraction to avoid a revolution or dragging politicians in the streets, when we can barely afford basic necessities?
There's your reason why piracy is allowed, if it wasn't, the last banking crisis would have been a fucking bloodbath
>>
>>71735105

Oh.

I thought we were having a conversation.

My bad.

Keep on channin.

I think if you would have spent a little more time on that last one I would have held on. Too many tabs open?

Most pathetic post I've read this year, congratulations.

I have many, but nine that you will actually address as presented to you.

It's not like you misheard since its all text either.

You are literally green texting things that you come up with and arguing against that.

You don't need 4chan to be schizo. But I guess it helps.

I made money selling them at school when Internet was at its beginning and Napster wasn't known yet.
Now it's just to shit on movies, posting memes for the same expenses as a janitor salary.
>giving money to capeshit, jews... Etc
Why would you do that ? I still pay whenever a movie is good and want my buddies to watch it tho

Because Capitalism is trash

Bad metaphor. If someone wasn't buying your lemonade but was consuming your lemonade, you would be losing your product without generating revenue. You can't really compare digital content distribution to fruit.

I'm happy SHE'S out of work though

>maybe 1 person doesn't need to make 20 million dollars when they only do 1 job

im obese, so its too hard for me to buy movies. they need to make it easier for non-skinny people to buy things
>>
>>71720206
All this piracy talk is BS. Most TV shows and movies that people piracy the most of are also the ones that make the most money. And they only talk about how bad it did on the cinema and how much the pirates destroy it, then in the background it's doing great on the stream sites. OR it's that simple that not even the pirates liked the movie, it's just a bad movie... but it's easy to blame it all on piracy in the media. And ofc people are so stupid ...so they fall for all that shit....
>>
