Tonight my brothers are at summer camp and mom has a night shift. My das wants to watch some great scifi movie but I can't find any we didn't see or which doesn't suck according to the net.
We watched and loved:
>pic related, 2001, blade runner, the thing, all aliens, terminators, edge of tommorow

stuff we didn't mind watching:
>interstellar,gravity,martian, oblivion

What would you recommend for us to watch tonight?

They are 11 and 15 and actually persuade my parents to send them there
checked

Thanks, will czech out
>>

Not pic related. Literally goes from sci-fi spectacular, to edgy slasher film. I really need someone to explain why it was a good idea to have the the human torch run amok with the strength of the hulk and start murdering the crew? Fucking completely unnecessary.

Pretty decent and comparable mostly to aliens in terms of feeling.
You have to forgive the CGI in few places but 99% of it is decent.
if you have seen MOON than this is one step bellow since those guys went above and beyond to hide it.

>>
>>71666306
lel, I watched that movie today (Sunshine) for the 1st time. It's... actually pretty good.
>>
>>71668479
Second that opinion - though while it's a good bit, I dunno if I could recommend it for an 11 and 15 year old.

Tomorrowland maybe more up their alley... The various Jurassic Parks, Independance Day, AI, Inception, Fury Road, the Matrix series... Not that any of that they are all particularly *good* but they might be more in their range.

...Wish I could think of some really good sci-fi for that age range that you've not already listed, but I'm drawing a blank.

One of the greatest Sci-fi movies ever made
Honourable mention, since I've not seen it posted: Event Horizon.

Screamers, if you want cheesy 90's sci-fi.
Total Recall, obviously.
Europa report, isn't bad, but isn't great.
Pandorum, pretty good sci-fi horror.
>>
>>71669257
Oh, and Dark City, if you've not seen it.
>>
>>71666306
Moon u fag
>>
Ex machina

Minority report

Prestige
>>
>>71666306
War or the Worlds is good, especially if you can crank the volume up. The score is pretty good and the sirens/horns are great.
Dark City.
You didn't list it but I'm gonna guess you've seen The Matrix.

Chronicle
>>
Pitch black/Riddick movies, they're alright.
>>
>>71666306
Snowpiercer
>>
>>71668968
I agree with this but not for the action scenes.
If you throw away the teen love story the universe actually makes sense and is amazing that went so far.
I recommend it
>>
>>71669257
Have you seen it with the commentary track?
They talk about the alarm clock song being their running joke and how much they have paid for it for few seconds use which drained their budget.
Now after I finished this movie I watched Source Code its done by the same guys and the cellphone ringing is the same fucking song now at least running for a minute.
I laughed my ass off knowing that they spent large amount of their budget on this just because they find it fun.
>>
>>71669257
>Screamers
>cheesy
only in some execution, the story is top notch
>>
>>71669567
they are all good.
I rewatched them all in bluray quality last summer and they are very well worth it.

Event horizon, Snowpiercer.
>>
Sphere
Pandorum
>>
>>71666306
Solaris. American version is decent and more palatable to plebs.

Also, Sphere and Abyss. And fuck you lot for ignoring underwater sci-fi.
>>
>>71666983
It's still decent even in the worst parts.
>>
Event Horizon is pretty spoopy like most of the others you guys like. I'd give that a watch.

Moon seems like a great choice thanks, even though I think he'll have a bit of trouble with the low budget but he loved Snowpiercer so I
We've seen the other recs you suggested but not together. Great taste tho anon, I love Dar City.
Thanks

>>71669567
Just realised I haven't seen the last Riddick. Is it good?

>>71670330
Yeah both brothers and the 15yo "dates girls" and they sneak to drink beer and shit. Mostly just friends I hope.

>>71670389
Europefag so my dad loved the russian solaris. Haven't seen the Abyss but Sphere was great. How is it?

District 9, Cloverfield, Event Horizon we both seen and are great movies.
>>
>>71671277
Cargo and Pandorum, you fucking faggot.
CUBE!
>>
>>71671447
Saw all theae but Cargo. Is it really good? Made in Switzerland makes me doubt it a bit.
>>
>>71671277

There is nothing low budget about it is handled amazingly well, the movie is slow as a fucking space opera should be.
>>
>>71666306

do a Spielberg marathon:

A.I.
Minority Report
Close Encounters

Whoa there motherfucker, you better watch Outland with your fucking dad right now and get ready for an intense father-son bonding experience on par with when he taught you to ride a bike or gave you your first pocket knife.

Pic related. It's Sean fucking Connery in Outland. It's about a mine in space.
