my take away from it was that multiculturalism doesnt work. racism and the differences in cultures aside(in terms of which one is better/worse) or whether or not derek was right in the end to have hated blacks or seemingly forgiven them, the one thing i took from it was that no matter what happens or how hard you try to make it work, multiculturalism does not work. the culture with less to lose will invariably fuck the other one up
