It's going to be cool to see a return to the OT era with the classic Stormtroopers and I like the focus they're placing on the rebels and their rundown secret bases, highlighting how outmatched they are. Although, in the long run, I don't think it'll be good enough to earn its place in a casual marathon of SW (which is gonna remain as IV - VII). I'm sure it'll be tolerable as it'll deliver some decent action sequences and Vader is coolio but it won't replace IV as the new starting point.

Watching it right now actually. My friend recommended it to me some time ago, but it looked like a total kid tier shit, so I ignored it. Then some anon in here recommended it to me again and I gave it a go. Really surprised how mature it is sometimes. Some episodes suck dick and are obviously a filler, but generally I enjoy it way more than the prequels. It also looks better, because they have the same quality of CGI for backgrounds/ships etc with characters that don't look out of place.

The show is known as George Lucas's apology for a reason. He personally bankrolled it to make sure it looked good and stayed on the air while also essentially salvaging Anakin as a character. The show was planned to run eight seasons with the ending either concurrent with or a little after the end of Episode 3, but then Disney happened.
It also gets surprisingly violent, though the TV versions were apparently censored a bit. I mean,. Y the second episode you have droids happily whistling while destroying the glass of escape pods and leaving the occupants to die from the vacuum of space.
