Should I watch this? Is is better than Mulholland Drive?

Yes.

Yes and No.

but mostly yes
Mulholland Drive is a masterpiece. Blue Velvet is borderline capeshit.

Peaks babies love it. The Lynch toddlers. If you like can appreciate his real films like Inland Empire and Lost Highway then it will seem pretty shit to you.
Main villain is a bit edgy. Really beautifully shot, and the actual song "Blue Velvet" is god-tier kino music, alongside Lynch's choice of "Falling" for Twin Peaks.
Is it me or is the entire film about murdering Pasbt Blue ribbon for it's product placement?
>blue ribbon
>blue velvet
>alcohol
>bruises

>she wore blue velvet
>she wore bruises from an alcoholic
Poetry, bravo Lynch

Is it me or did Lynch have a fight with Pabst over the product placement and decided to destroy the beer.
>>71602593
I literally like the film was rewritten on purpose for this
>>71602318
i hope this is just bait, heres a (you)
>>71602675
No bait. Blue Velvet is utterly infantile when compared to Lynch's most sophisticated work.
BABY WANTS TO FUCK !
(this post is obligatory at this point)
Much better than muholland. May watch this again soon.

How the fuck is this capeshit??

Yes

No
>At last, i truly have become the blue velvet
Jesus lynch get your act together
Blue Velvet is more linear than Mulholland Drive. If you're looking for a film that's weird, watch Mulholland Drive. If you want a more of a hitchcockesque mystery with a bit of surrealism, go with Blue Velvet
Want to shit your pants and not sleep for a week? Inland Empire.

PABST BLUE RIBBON!

My favorite movie. Not as deep or weird as his other ones. But I think has a perfect atmosphere and descent into the crazy underbelly.
I also really love the ending even though some people might find it cheesy or look at it deeper than what they show

I love how Lynch links these scenes through this song. Dennis Hopper kills it. That look of anguish when the music swells is astounding. The "Dark" version where Frank replaces Ben, as shown by the light on his face. Someone is dancing off in the back. Instead of Frank being upset and sad, he's filled with rage.

Charls seems like he might be a legit psychopath.
