The Dragon one was equally stupid.
>>
>>71575608
Was this the docu that people all over the world believe was true? back in 2012 i think
>>
>>71576332
It might have been.

I admittedly thought the dragon one was real the first time I saw it, until the end when they said "but what if we really did find a dragon?"

I was like, well that was the stupidest thing I've ever watched.
>>
>>71575608
Animal Planet is the weirdest fucking channel.

They have no fucking clue what they want to be.

Half of their shows are fucking retarded and really have no reason being on Animal Planet and would be better on like a home-designing channel (the pool one, the fish tank show, and that god awful treehouse one)

Then they have some shows that are actually perfect for animals specifically, but they have way too fucking many of them (the veterinarian shows)

Then they have fucking shows about Game Wardens and Wildlife police which is fucking retarded because those shows belong on fucking TruTV or something.

And then they randomly have just the DUMBEST fucking documentaries like this one or that fucking megalodon one.

And then to add it all together, they have fucking life and survival shows like the Alaskan ones.

The channel just has no fucking idea what direction it wants to go in, and have their shows are more concentrated on humans rather than all other fucking forms of animals.

The only show on that channel really worth a damn is the fishing show with that british guy, but even then it's really overdone and melodramatic.

Anyways I don't know why I made this autistic rant but I did.
>>
>>71576816
Yeah Animal Planet is fucking drunk. I remember being fucking STOKED when Animal Planet came to basic cable. It was good for a long time. I think during the day they even had a "animal planet kids" or something in the morning and I remember it had fun shows.

Apparently 69% of audiences believed it too.

2004? That would clock me in at 12 or 13 at the time.

And I just watched the dragon one last night and they said the males were the brightly colored ones.
>>

>Why are all the cool science and nature channels shit now?
They've lost their natural glitter to them, as people have been exposed to them for so long. This results in a loss of viewership with shows that are pure nature and animal related. Enter shit that should really be on fucking E! to drive up ratings, and you have what we have now.

Honest to god I met a girl at school who thought it was a real documentary. She lived for several years with the belief that mermaids are real.
>>
>>71577109
My dad mandates to this day that megalodons are real.
>>
>>71577137
They were real, so that's not as bad as thinking mermaids exist(ed).
>>
>>71577171
I guess. But I just couldn't convey the concept of a fake documentary for entertainment purposes to him. He just didn't get it and thought it was real.
>>
>>71577237
Yeah that's really annoying. The absolute belief given to something that's on tv is scary.
>>
>>71577274
Yeah. Most people that age (50s/60s) are pretty fucking retarded.

It's so funny, growing up you're always thinking how stupid your parents and most other authority figures are, and as you mature, you somewhat acknowledge you might just not understand it yet, but then when you're fully grown and developed you realize you were right and these people have just always been retarded.

I thought it was cool, how they explained how it'd breathe fire and eventually evolve strong wings to fly but it was nothing like walking with dinosaurs

>>71575608
this shit was pretty bad even the people in the "documentary" looked like their wallets were being held at gun point

The dragon one was cool except the huge fucking leap from dinosaur era dragons and the European ones. Not tetrapod has ever just developed an extra pair of limbs out of nowhere. It made no sense how it goes from a more realistic four limbed creature to a complete fantasy animal with six.
>>
>>71575608
the worst part about this show was that I actually had to explain to my friends that it wasn't real.
>>
>>71580236
yeah nigga when they survived K-T

there was an "aqua" dragon whose fins became wings for later terrestrial dragons
>>
>>71580497
Tetrapods don't magically develop fins which become fully formed jointed wings. Why the fuck would an an aquatic reptile need extra fins anyway? Every other aquatic or semi aquatic reptile does fine with four limbs. Again, this isn't them turning existing limbs into wings, they just sprout these magical extra limbs as fins or wings. It makes no sense. They should have stuck with the dino-dragon and just worked with that design.

think your referring to the four-limbed (two wings and two legged) one who fought the Trex? If I remember correctly, they explained this away by showing the Aquatic Dragon which already had six limbs?

I cut ties with the Discovery Network over a decade ago.
Just like the History Channel, it is pure dreck devoid of any educational value. Pure garbaged peddled to the lowest common denominator.

Its nickname used to be the Hitler Channel because that was the filler material during the day and so on.

Who gives a filthy fuck about clones unless it's a dinosaur? I've seen a sheep, who cares whether it was grown in a womb or a test tube.

I guess some hideous chimera would be cool, but not practical so it'll never happen.
