I'm gonna be dead honest with you guys: I had the biggest cineboner during the scene when Ruby brushes Jessie's hair cause from the trailer I was assuming that would lead to the hottest lesbian sex scene since "La Vie d'Adèle".
Well, while the movie didn't deliver in that regard, it still delivered in several others. But boy, that ending was still rather sickening(not so much the cannibalism thing itself but rather that extended scene of Gigi dry-heaving. And before that the view of Jessie twitching on the bottom of the pool)Guess that's just what happens when you refuse to read any spoilers, eh.And FUCK ME, Elle Fanning is cute! I really wondered whether Refn was actually aiming for real symbolism. The triangle motif was just too obvious. Like one of the models – I think it was the Sarah character, but I might be misremembering that part – wearing an inverted triangle pendant in the scene when she's introduced (the first club scene), which of course would be a symbol for femininity as well. Then Jessie seeing the neon double-triangle and stepping out of the mirror triangle – note that her glaring shift in attitude coincides with the "tri-force" visions.So if you presume that the film has an underlying supernatural theme, I guess this denotes the point when she gets "possessed"
