However the second part of the statement is an attempt at black comedy, while Master (Will) Turner is allowed to go ashore, it is stated in the film that the Flying Dutchman only makes port once every ten years.
It pissed me off that Davy Jones' ship is shown to mostly travel by diving under water but when Will is on the Flying Dutchman, they never go under. Were they staying on the surface level to accommodate one guy that can't breath under water?
