>There were complaints about the extreme amount of gore,[5] and Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt claim members of the test audience fainted during the screening.[4] Paramount, which had stopped looking at the dailies before any of the gore was shot and were seeing the complete movie for the first time along with the audience, were similarly shocked by how gruesome it was and demanded a shorter length time with a decreased amount of gore.

>Real-life amputees were used for special effects scenes in which Event Horizon crew members were mutilated, and porn actors were hired to make the sex and rape scenes more realistic and graphic.[4]

Event horizon easily.

This is my thread. I love it.

What Dreams May Come. His son turned into Cuba Gooding Jr. You tell me if it's worse.

I saw that movie with my friend when we were like 13, and at the end we were both in tears, trying to hide it. That shit was for real. It was terrifying in a subtle way that I doubt any other movie could capture. They were both fantastic actors. It was so believable. The hell they show before it is expected, but in the end. It's so subdued, and nuanced... it's about seeing the moments slip away.

It's like the ending of The Notebook with some lovecraftian perversion.

OH, and the best part is you see science guys like Bill Nye and DeGrasse Tyson talk about it's realistic depiction of outer space immersion.
The fucking code names like baby bear just add a weird hellish rebirthing through the cold void of space in that fetal position.

That's a movie with symbolism that shows like Hannibal reminded me of.

that's what I think of when I think of hell depictions in movies

it wasn't all fear and horror all the time, there was a lot of depression and misery to some of the circles in the film

reminds me of a modern Dante's Inferno
>>

The sad part is that a good chunk (the best part) of the hell footage was deleted from the final/dvd cut, and it ended damaged beyond repair.

>A guy grabs a woman from behind and begins squeezing her breasts...it all starts looking sexual until the girl begins screaming as the guy squeezes harder and harder until the breasts split and rupture as he tears them off.

>A woman is slammed against a bulkhead, her arm is held by one guy whilst another breaks it with a hunk of metal.

>Add to this the fact that the entire cast were totally naked and that some of the simulated rapes and sex scenes would have put a porno movie to shame and you can understand why it was all cut from a mainstream Hollywood film.
>>
>>71512525
Never seen this but that sounds interesting. Is there an uncut version out there?

Like i said here >>71512714

>After a successful initial DVD release, the studio and Anderson became interested in assembling a director's cut but they quickly found out that the excised footage had not been carefully stored and that much of it had gone missing. Some of the footage was located in a salt mine in Transylvania in bad condition.[6] The plan to assemble a director's cut was abandoned and instead a Special Edition two-DVD set was released that featured one deleted scene, two extended scenes, and a few shots of deleted material in the included making-of. The footage is of "video" quality.[4]

>However, in a 2012 interview he announced that producer Lloyd Levin had found a VHS tape with his original rough cut. Anderson said that after finishing Resident Evil: Retribution, he planned to watch this rough cut for the first time since assembling the film

there's nothing more hellish than our world but without its good aspects and with every single bad aspect slightly worse, it doesn't even let you drown in your pain, it just makes you suffer from boredom and general shittiness eternally
