This season as a whole was a pleasant surprise in terms of characterizations. They turned away from the "everyone is innocent and just unlucky" flashbacks of S3 and showed that some are just stupid (maritza), some are ruthless (frieda), and that crazy-eyes is a straight up danger to society who belongs in an asylum. Piscatella is a realistic, flawed, gay character, and the Asian super social justice chick was shown to be a legitimately terrible person. It was refreshing to see people in prison who are, you know, bad people.

First of all, Piscatella is a nice character, the season was asking for some order in the prison. The problem with this show is that the audience forgets that the prisioners are criminals and then they see the officers as bad guys, of course there's bad guys taking advantage of the prisioners but that doesn't make them the antagonists in the show.

Piscatella is supposed to be qualified, capable, and pretty much the perfect prison guard for Caputo. Not having to risk succumbing to female charms is part of that character.

I submitted a rejected storyline where a Senator's aide visits and in exchange for an inmate assistance in monitoring private sector prisons get a letter supporting their rehabilitation (essentially a get out on parole free card). The catch being that the inmate has to fuck the aide for that week because that's why he does the "inspections".
The storyline focused on him picking Flaca and her acting like Queen Bee because of it, but at the end of the week he introduces her to the son of an influential backer of the Senate and tells her to "show him a good time".
She is forced to let this kid fuck her and then when she threatens to tell someone he threatens her with afederal conviction for raping a child, and tells her he picked her out of the whole prison solely because the kid wanted some gangsta latina (he uses a lot of racial slurs during this scene); destroying her self esteem and belief in her looks as a result.
Point is that Flaca is an ugly-ass ho and the only reason anyone would prefer her to Maritza or Morello is because they were forced to by circumstance.

Nobody knows how she gets her info, but he at the end berated Flaca for missing his chance with Morello, due to this being the first time she's not obsessed with a fiance/husband.

But within what we saw of him, I can definitely imagine him threatening a prisoner with a gun for his own amusement, and I can even see him shooting her and then claiming that she "just came at me, cursing in Spanish". I think Humps just doesn't see the inmates as real people. But I was bothered throughout the season about how one-dimensional and evil all the new guards were portrayed.
