I think it looks gorgeous, and not saying this is a flaw but they were just going for something different and the colors are subtly off and a lot darker. This new one actually looks straight out of the Ditko comics in terms of coloring which I love. But using bright colors will always make it look weird in a realistic setting.

It "fits" because its a molded suit and not tights. Aside from adding a fuck ton of mini textures and making the colors really dark there is nothing you can do to a body suit to make it a non "halloween costume" its bright red and blue tights, thats exactly how Spider-Man is supposed to look. Its not like with Captain America where he is supposed to be in tights but they made his costume clothes, or like Black Panther a molded armor suit rather than tights. They do those things because a body suit looks ridiculous. I like the color they used and dislike the other Spider-Man costumes that made him a lot darker.

I'm sure there is nothing you would love more than to have an autisitic debate over whether or not Spider-Man should be wearing armor but i'll just say I dont like the idea and its as simple as that for me. I dont personally like Tobey's costume because its so dark, the eyes are angled and small to look really aggressive like instead of round and big or like Ditko drew them, I dont like the mini texture all over the suit, and the large silver/grey lines really ruin it for me because they stick out so much whereas the black would be perfect. I love spider-man as a character and think these pictures look great. It might look cheap to you but I simply accept the fact that it is spandex and the entire concept is fucking ridiculous and there's no reality in which Spider-Man of all people will not look silly because red and blue tights as well as superheroes in general are the epitome of silly. TASM1 is legitimately one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
I don't get why TASM2 gets shit all over while the first movie gets a semi-pass when it is much, much worse. The second one, at least, had enough action schlock and nice colorful visuals to be watchable.
The first one is a dull, monotone, lifeless, shamelessly derivative copy of Raimi's original film. Every creative decision they made was wrong, from the villain to the suit to the script to the director to the pointless, retarded, character-contradictory subplots. It's honestly offensive, and feels like concentrated contempt for the audience.
Whereas TASM2 just comes across as harmless garbage to me, convinced it's competent simply because the first one made enough money to merit its creation. It has an aloof confidence in spite of how bad it is.
