And the WWZ movie was already divorced from the source material to start off with, and there's only a few movies I can now think of like it, blade runner... Adaptation isn't one. but blade runner was a good movie regardless.
WWZ was a very specific movie that was going to be a bomb if not for reshoots. I don't think you'll find anything else quite like it.
