I am really surprised, as a SW fan, how Bud's death is affecting me.
He had a few interesting roles in all that before it went all comedy, but even from that point of view, the dude seems to be a really nice guy.

I don't have the numbers, but since apparently no Americans give a shit about Bud being dead, and nobody bothered to make good dubs for more than two of their movies, I have a hard time imagining they made any significant headlines. And without the Trinity movies we wouldn't have had the other movies at all. They paved the way for all their other movies.

The sad fact is that italian cinema died in the mid 70s and by the late 80s it was fully decomposed. Sure, today every once in a while there's the occasional good and rarely excellent movie, but they are so far in between...

The series Gomorra seems really well done, but I don't follow it because it hits too close to home and makes me upset and depressed.

It's not too far fetched to say that european cinema in general and italian in particular was on par with american in the international markets, genre movies, like horrors and the ones of our beloved Bud were especially VERY lucrative.
