I am really surprised, as a SW fan, how Bud's death is affecting me.
He had a few interesting roles in all that before it went all comedy, but even from that point of view, the dude seems to be a really nice guy.
And i remember those sundays night watching Miami Supercops and other movies. It was a lot of fun.

Good bye Carlo.

Just a couple of years ago I went to the signature session in Schwäbisch Gmünd. I won't ever forget that moment when he signed my book and, after I said thanks, looked into my eyes and gave me a short smile. What a great day.

Because they are genuinely good movies. Sure, there is the occasional dud here and there, but for the most part they are well scripted, well directed and, obviously, well acted (and choreographed) movies, silly but not dumb, cartoonish but not cheesy, with heart but not overly sentimental and especially very very funny. If the pair's best movies didn't make it big in America despite a fantastic dub, then no dub could've helped their other movies break through. I don't have the numbers, but since apparently no Americans give a shit about Bud being dead, and nobody bothered to make good dubs for more than two of their movies, I have a hard time imagining they made any significant headlines. And without the Trinity movies we wouldn't have had the other movies at all. They paved the way for all their other movies.

It feels like an end to an era, nowadays the italian actors I like I could count them on 1 hand, maybe 2 if I stretch my memory, nobody seems to be able to take the baton and thus Italian cinema feels like is fading.

The sad fact is that italian cinema died in the mid 70s and by the late 80s it was fully decomposed. Sure, today every once in a while there's the occasional good and rarely excellent movie, but they are so far in between...
>>
It'll take a year like with Peter O'toole? He was worldwide famous and took 1 long year!
>>
>>71399696
Noice anon, I am ashamed to admit I did not properly looked because usually italian torrents are rather scarce, poorly done and maintained (ah just like this country!)

>>71399754
The series Gomorra seems really well done, but I don't follow it because it hits too close to home and makes me upset and depressed.
Also is funny that even italians need subtitles to follow it.

This whole thing reminds me of italian Theatre before Carlo Goldoni, everyone just working with poorly conceived caricatures done on the fly characters.

Although "Smetto quando voglio " was rather well done.
>>
>>71399754
Everybody talks about how the blockbuster killed New Hollywood when all it really did is re-establish the status quo after 15 years. The real tragedy is how it killed almost every regional filmmaking industry overnight. Countries that didn't have the resources to compete with Jaws and Star Wars just seemed to stop trying outside of festival films

I just remembered he was in Sant'Agostino of which I have yet to see the end and is on youtube too.
>>
>>71401428
They're making a new Django with Franco himself. John Sayles directing, if i remember correctly

so the scary oooOOOooOOooo's are coming back?
>>
>>71401931
Oh god, when are we gonna create original content instead of sucking off what's left form the past.

Good thing is there won't be anyone from cinema nor music to cry in a few decades.

Anyway, i'm currently watching Ace High. God... when his name came to the screen it was a strange feeling.

There's like 25 Django sequels, how can you possibly complain about a fresh one 30 years later

I don't know, maybe it's better this way. A sticky would be soon infested by trolls and assholes mocking him for not being popular in The Only Country That Matters. This thread may be slow and about to 404 (no problem, i'll immediatly start another one, if necessary), but it's comfy, gentle and warm, like Bud was.
>>
>>71403821
Because a vast majority of the sequels were bad, so why adding one 50 years later ?

At least he truly lived a fulfilling life. He always seemed so content with everything and was never annoyed by the fact that people almost worship him. Always gave his best for his fans. Truly a one of a kind man and kind personality.
