And one wonders why these kids grew up to be rotten. Fuck Dumbledore. I'm glad he's dead.

It was the Chris Columbus movies where they actually wore school uniforms, like every other school in the UK.
I just think of it as Voldemort being right about the decline of wizarding culture due to Muggles.

I never noticed how low their points were before.

I mean, doesn't each house have like a 100 students and aren't the points given throughout the entire year? How do a 100 kids who get points in "servings" of 10 or more only accumulate 250 - 500 points in a year?

Are there some bitch nigga teachers deducting ridiculous amounts of points every chance they get?
>>

>They only wore robes in the Columbus movies
This isn't true though, in the other movies they're in their uniforms 75% of the time, it's the last movie when they aren't in school that it gets fucked up.

>Are there some bitch nigga teachers deducting ridiculous amounts of points every chance they get?

must be, I swear lupin gave out like 30 points per lesson
>>
>>71388696
You mean Snape?
I wonder who his equivalent that deducts a shitload from Slytherin is.
>>
>>71388776
I imagine it must be a combination of every other teacher in the school punishing Slytherins for misbehaving in class-- which they always do at some point.

"We're in one of the dullest franchises in the history of movie franchises? Wow really impressive! Each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but itüfs certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books are good though
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King."

They learned very quickly that the society they lived under wasn't as it seems. That while the muggles preach about how awful it is when others discriminate against them, deep down they are even more racist than Slytherin and don't hold themselves to the same standards. They want their affirmative action and quotas, they demand that Hogwarts gives them special treatment, they resent that pure bloods got to go to magic kindergarten while they didn't and will forever view them as carrying the mark of privilege, a grave sin in their twisted little world.

It is easy to see why so many turned to Voldemort.

didn't Harry, Ron and Hermione lose 50 points each because of the Dragon-business with Hagrid earlier? I never thought that was too bad, Dumbledore was just setting the score right.
