She was un-blinded by the poison thing in the well, which acts as some sort of will from the many faced god. Jaqen tells her, even, that he can give her back her eyes. I'd say the well decides how you're going to serve the God: you either become another face, or become no-one, a face hunter.

Arya didn't fuck up two assassinations, she just choose her own targets. Nowhere is it implied that Jaqen really wanted those people dead more than seeing if Arya could be some kind of promised girl, able to take her own path.
Jaqen wants faces for the God. That's it. The Waif was a good enough contract killer, Arya could be a fucking apocalypse of death.
The problem is that it's never written decently. Arya takes sword lessons, she becomes good, then insert scene where she can't even hold her sword straight.
Same thing in Braavos, she learns to fight FUCKING BLIND, becoming a murder machine, then she gets stabbed without even trying to fight back. Next scene, again she's a murder machine.
One scene she murders anyone without a single regard for life, next scene the actress is too nice to kill.

The bottom line is that Arya's wound isn't necessarily fatal or fatal looking, in the real world plenty of men and women have survived MUCH worse, including the swim into polluted city water with a gaping wound.
It's just badly written, in a show where less gruesome wounds led to instant death, and in a situation where the fight could have played out in ANY OTHER WAY and had a more interesting outcome without ruining the written plot.
