The main point of contention is not that women never got to learn to fight (except a bunch of them). Its that all the women in charge of armies seem to have little regards to those who die under them. Now while that's also true for some of the men commander who couldn't give a shit about their men, they don't fucking smile and act smug while watching thousands of men die. They have some dignity and understand that sacrifices must be made, some of them like Jon and Robb clearly show regret over those sacrifices.
The only commander who seems to derive pleasure from watching thousands die in horrible agony and give zero shit about his men is Ramsay, and he's a fucking psychopath. Is that really the metric you want to evaluate the females behavior on ?
Brienne is a good example of a woman fighter done well. She's fucking massive for once and she's clearly learned how to fight. She at least tries to maintain a degree of dignity and honor instead of being a backstabbing cunt to those close to her (I'm still waiting for her to sacrifice Pod pointlessly). And she's shown to understand the horrors of war and she's willing to get her own hands dirty. Unlike Sansa for instance, while she was wiser than Jon about the fact that Rickon was dead anyway, she still lied to Jon about having an army on her side, sent him to very probable death, tried to manipulate LF while clearly falling in his trap (again). And then she has the gall to crack a smile while watching her own half-brother in horrible agony, her own brother dead and thousands herded like cattle and slaughtered.
