Clearly people are motivated by self-interest. That's why Cersei was able to turn the entire city against Ned. You know why? She had more money (it's emphasized that the Gold Cloaks like gold, of which more is promised to Janos Slynt by Cersei than by Ned). But then in Dorne you have a shitload of guards who are complicit in the ending via assassination of a 1000 year old dynasty because its people allegedly want to enter a war in which they would be facing a Frey-Lannister-Highgarden army. A weakened army that is facing internal strife, yes, but one that still has more combined forces than the Dornish army and more battle-tested soldiers. And let's not account for the fact that the guards would get a very, very handsome reward for betraying the assassination plot in the first place (since, you know, the Sand Snakes would be killing a royal family).

And the time scale between scenes is really fucking contrived, since the first few scenes of the episode are implied to happen at the same time. So unless you're assuming that all of that shit about King's Landing (which occurs within a block of scenes, IIRC) happens within a spaced-out time frame, you're basically assuming a time-scale-between-scenes that has to be abstracted by the viewer post-hoc ('Oh, it makes sense to assume that scene X happens Y amount of time after scene X+y'). But that's, literally, a contrived time scale that has to be introduced as an apologetic for writing that isn't fleshed out.
