Amy's Baking Company was the greatest episode of this or any other show on Television. I hope it won an Emmy. I hope it won all the Emmys.

Yeah UK KN was comfy and interesting and entertaining. The American one was just trashy and cringeworthy.

Kind of reminds me of that famous webm about British documentaries vs. American documentaries.
>>
>>71294796
The way burgerland pizza is meant to be. It's not a salad.
>>
>>71294912
>>71294753
The UK version is basically documentary tier
The US version is basiclaly comedy tier

UK version is more interesting but US version is funnier
>>
>>71294747
They recently shut down after Sammy pulled a knife on someone criticizing the food.
>>
>>71294912
UK ones are boring. Ramsay cuts the menu then does some PR to get more tourist and its done. Give me a dirty kitchen run by a family of retards famjam
>>
>>71294677
I didn't watch much of the video but my local pizza place is a bit like that. Like sometimes they just won't be open.

I'll sit there for an hour deciding on what to get then call them and find out they just couldn't be fucked getting out of bed at 5pm and opening. If they do it again i'll burn the place down.

can you share the webm?
>>
>>71294463

Well that's probably because you're a fat shit with who will eat anything.
>>
>>71295250
Refrigerate meats and veggies, buy fresh bi-weekly and throw out when it turns. The rub is struggling restaurants can't afford to do this because they aren't receiving customers.

Owning a restaurant is generally a shit business and 90% of them fail within the first year.

>>
>>71295397
Why not keep frozen on reserve as a backup plan, and buy only as much fresh as you are likely to serve? I feel like there has to be a way to make it work.
>>
>>71295250
walk in refrigerators with ingredieants stored in shrinkwrapped clear plastic containers. Fresh produce daily and everything else should be stocked weekly

>>
Gordon, stop posting this exact same thread every day.
>>
>>71295211
The sausage looks pretty good, desu. But I bet that is a fake pizza made specifically for the show. There's no way he uses that much dough on the regs. No sensible human being would ever think that is an appropriate amount of dough. That wouldn't even fit in a pizza box.
>>

>build business from scratch

yeah he's stubborn but his family are fucking cunts
>>
>>71295510
Successful restaurants know how much they are going to serve so they don't even need to fuck around with freezer burning anything. Ideally they will be slightly understocked rather than have a bunch of rotten food.

Yanni's where the waitress daughter wouldn't stop crying and the whole family yelled at her for it.

Also the best part of Kitchen Nightmare is the drama they don't show, like how the other daughter who worked in the kitchen is a crack whore and has tons of legal problems. http://socialcapitalreview.org/seattle-kitchen-nightmares-family-now-faces-greater-test/

Capri.

It really brings out Ramsays human side. He's only a shouting asshole to those who are in denial and get in his way; these two had their heart in the right place, but their mind and bodies in another.

And it's still open today, getting amazing reviews.

Shows that it all comes down to the owner(s), not the restaurant itself. The only episode where I actually felt feels, Ramsay coaches them to success in a very personal way.

Look em up on Facebook or Yelp.

I started watching the English version of this show with my brother and really enjoyed it. The focus was on improving the restaurant's deficits, and not necessarily the people.

The American show was much more about drama. It seemed like every episode, the chef/ owner would take offense to everything, and they would spend half the episode arguing and doing dumb bullshit.

Anyone else think this pizza looked like it would taste just fine?

To a world renowned chef like Ramsay, sure it's probably garbage.

I give Gordon credit for being willing to shove his hands/fingers into all kinds of nasty ass shit through the years.

>finds 3 year old bag of rotten vegetables, immediately starts scooping them out with his bare hands
"UGH LUUK AT THIS S***"
>finds 2 inches of grime underneath deep fryer, immediately drags his fingers through it
"I'M GOIN TO F*** VOMIT"
>locates source of roach infestation, proceeds to rub them into his hair/clothing
"THEY'RE F**** EVERYWHERE"
>uses a blacklight to reveal the appalling stains all over the dining room, sniffs a particularly large stain and licks it
"I ATE AT THIS F*** BOOTH F*** BLIMEY"
>walks into bathroom and finds a rat nest, pulls one out and massages it into his genitals
"I'VE NEVER F*** SEEN ANYTHING LOIK THIS"
>>
>>71297873
I'm with you all the way minus the ranch
>>
>>71297873

>>
>>71294753
fun fact: that restaurant owner went on becoming a prostitute
>>
>wife of the owner
>"HE NEVER LISTENS TO ME, THINGS NEED TO CHANGE AND HE NEEDS TO START LISTENING TO ME"

So if they started listening to their wives input the business would suddenly start functioning properly? Just a recurring thing I see, one of the reasons every restaurant is failing is because they aren't listening to the suggestions of their spouse. I mean get real.

Its easy to follow a recipe with a fully stocked, fresh kitchen.

It's harder to follow one 2 months down the line if you cant manage your stock properly so you push questionable food or constantly have to rebuy fresh items at retail price on the fly.

There is a reason so many of these people fail after kitchen nightmares.

I almost never feel bad for the owners and generally just want them to crash and burn. Bunch of spoiled fucks who usually inherited restaurants from their passionate parents, then get lazy as fuck and never take the time to learn the trade.

Most of the restaurants are failing because the owners are apathetic, lazy, uninvolved retards that expect the employees to do literally everything themselves. Every once in a while there is a good owner who just needs a little help but the vast majority of them deserve everything bad that happens to them.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to feel bad for upper middle class children who are handed restaurants, fucking tank the business while they sit at home and their employees are expected to do everything and maintain the shitty owner's above their head lifestyle.

It's ridiculous how many people think that restaurant owners shouldn't need to actually do shit for their business, and that everything's up to the staff. And that the staff should do it just to be nice to the owner or because they want the restaurant to succeed.

It's interesting to look at the fate of the places after the show. A lot of them that shut down afterwards actually did turn things around and become profitable again, but once they got out of debt they still sold the place.

I think a lot of them must just be sick of the job, and so they use the show as a way out of the hole they've dug themselves into rather than actually trying to save the place.
>>
>>71302235
Follow them correctly. Or if you stray from the recipe make the food better instead of worse.

I compiled a list of the episodes and a greentext summary to go with each episode.

Dillon's
>Indian restaurant, filthy kitchen, one of the owners being used, general manager a donkey. Rotten tomatoes being served.

Seascape
>One of the more un-professional chefs in the series. Gordon almost chokes to the owner's mom's cookie.

Sebastian's
>Crazy owner with big dreams, the most complex menu "concept" in the series. "This guy is seriously off his fucking trolley"- Gordon

Lela's
>swagpriest thuglord "executive" chef, with a line cook that steals leftover food from the kitchen.

The Secret Garden
>Pompous french head chef. "YOU FRENCH PIG!"

Handlebar
>really sub-par food made by a chef who doesn't even want to work as a chef, owner is at the end of the rope.

Black Pearl
>One of the owners is a real sleazeball, kinda like a politician. Horrible lobster rolls all over.

J Willy's
>Totally clueless general manager, the two owners miserable, heartfelt episode imo.

Fiesta Sunrise
>Mashed beans in a 20 gallon barrel. Everything on the menu is made "yesterday". The owner / general manager a stupid mexican.

Casa Roma
>Totally clueless headchef, who takes two hours to complete one table. Powdered sugar sprinkled on top of a sandwich with fries.

Spanish Pavillion
>Head chef / owner totally depressed and lost his love for food. A dead lobster in the lobstertank.

Kingston Cafe
>Jamaican restaurant that does jerkchicken and then bags it up in these little medical style baggies. The owner works also as a doctor, so of course everyone in the restaurant has to call her "Dr."

Oceana
>One of my favourites. Gordon totally owns the head chefs ass. The duck that was served to Gordon was 2 months old.

Blackberry's
>Chaotic system in the kitchen, dead mouse by the front door, good shit. One of the rare moments when Gordon actually likes something in the menu.
>>
>>71302342
Leone's
>Theres like 300 items on the menu, every single one of them is garbage. The owner / manager spends 3 hours in the restaurant per day mainly doing nothing.

Burger Kitchen part 1 & 2
>Guess all of you know about this by now. Nonstop drama the both episodes.

El greco
>The owner / manager plays video games all day, comes really late to the restaurant. Everything is made with the microwave in the restaurant. The most depressing looking lamb dish you will ever see.

Spin-A-Yarn
>Trophy wife who acts really bizarre, I can't really put my finger on it. Calls his husband "dude" unironically. The restaurant looks pretty decent, horrible food though.

Ms Jean's Southern Cuisine.
>The staff takes their job for granted. Horrible food, and a really odd looking restaurant overall. Ms Jean however is likable.

Olde Hitching Post
>The most hideous looking smile I ever saw on a waitress. Lunatic owner who thinks that the clams smell and taste fresher after being frozen. "Ocean fresh". Meatlof being frozen and then grilled again.

Mill Street Bistro part 1 & 2
>Gordon and the baboon owner go head to head almost the whole runtime.
>Elk quesadillas.
>Owner claims to have been trained by oldschool classic restauranters in Europe, who had a liking to him. All this of course being denied later by the owner when Gordon refers to it.

Prohibition Grille
>50 year old owner who acts, talks and dresses like a teenager. Leaves Gordon scratching his head on how dumb some people can be.

Amy's Baking Company
>..

Mangia Mangia part 1 & 2
>Drug addict head chef fights all the time with the owner. Horrible, horrible italian food. The owner's daughter who works as a waiter is also a total bitch.

Peter's
>Short-tempered italian owner, the whole business acts like a mafia or something.

The mixing bowl
>The oddest looking salad you will ever see. Skippable episode.
>>
>>71302235
think about how many flavors there are, think about how you can combine each and every one of them
what do you think it takes to know what to combine and how to do it?
>>
>>71300337
>CUNTER
>>
>>71302235
After you learn the technique and food safety, you'll have to expose yourself to as many cuisines as possible. Figure out why flavor combinations work so that you can make your own recipes. Swallow your pride and appeal to the local demographic, especially if you work in a tourist town. Keep the best foods and occasionally swap out items from the menu. The menu should really not be too big so you don't stretch your other chefs too thin.

Hot potato cafe

>Brother & Sister owners practically hate eachother by now. More on the family drama side of the series.

Zeke's
>Horrible food, aside from delicious dessert. Cajun styled restaurant, a bit delusional owners but your average KN episode alltogether.

Chiarella's
>Italian restaurant. Crazy owner who works out in the basement of the restaurant and hits the walls frequently. "The food is not so baaaaad" sure man sure.

Mama Maria's
>Owner at the end of his rope. The kitchen freezes everything because the owner says so, endless bags of meatballs and spaghetti.
