The only two things I've really heard of this movie are that there's a supposedly very cool scene where vader takes out a pack of rebels horror slasher style, and the second thing is that disney thought that was too dark and reshot it. So the bit of hype I had for it is gone. Will probably go see it in cinema though because brother/father will want to go.

But even Lucas made it pretty clear that by the end of the prequels, the number of Jedi left was barely in the hundreds.
In a universe with millions of member worlds and hundreds of trillions of inhabitants, at the least.

This movie will suffer the same fate as the Hobbit films... it will be underwhealming by its very concept because we already know how the overall plot will end. The Empire is defeated and the good guys win so how can there be tension? Sorry but nobody is going to give enough shits about these characters in one movie to have it just be carried by them alone.
Overall the movie will be boring. Prequels are always bad news. If there is important and interesting stories in the past in your universe than write them first. Making prequels after the fact seems like retcon nonsense.
