Why are Wes Anderson blu rays so expensive? The cheapest I can find Life Aquatic, TRT, and MK is about $26 each
Because his fan base are 90% hipsters that actually by hard copies still. And they couldn't stand not having the films of WES GOAT ANDERSON, after all??

This, my cousin for fucks sake cannot spend less than 30 on his criterion collection Blu Ray's and whenever I bring up streaming he talks as if it's the devil
>>71248033
Because Criterion blu-rays are expensive.

Just wait for the Barnes and Noble sale. Every July Barnes and Noble have a huge sale on all criterion releases.

He knows someone at criterion. Your question should be "why are criterion blu rays so expensive"

Because they're the best.

Not even his best, which is Rushmore.
Holy shit this movie was pure amazing the last time I watched it. Been like a decade I think so hope the movie still holds up with a re watch.

They used to play this a lot on Comedy Central, along with the Royal Tenenbaums.
Made me really hate it, since they presented it as a comedy along the same lines as Caddyshack or Animal House.
Only later did I give them an actual shot.
I doubt you'll be disappointed.

But why?

Grand Budapest is his best, but I lent it to my white trash friend and he lost it. $30 gone in the blink of an eye, and I just watched
>>71255076
Projecting much? I said it's expensive. Not expensive to me, but compared to other blu rays obviosuy, you dolt
>>71255134
Like I said, because they're the best.
High quality discs and transfers with LOADS of supplemental material.
If you're really interested in movies beyond 'Huh, good flick!' or you're trying to curate your own library, they're just the best possible version you can buy.

Same here, I remember watching this movie with my parents when it first came out. They thought it was a comedy just like Murray's other films and when the real dramatic stuff happened they were all like "The hell? This is too serious and not funny at all".
hah so they left the movie with not such a good taste due to going into the movie with total different expectations.
