She died giving birth to Luke, which turned Vader to the dark side and blamed Luke's father for everything.

ok here's the big spoilers.
1) Luke's father was killed by vader because he the girl vader was in love with chose lukes father.
2) Obi wan Kenobi is vader's father thats why he couldn't kill him on the deathstar.
3) Luke gets training from Darth Vader who he doesnt recognize outside his suit.
4) Luke and Leia get married at the end
5) Han Solo is lured away from the rebellion by an old friend named Lando (he comes back though in the third movie)

Obi Wan was Luke's father, and he was indeed killed by Vader. HOWEVER, the Jedi made a clone called OB-1, who is the old man in the movie who Like meets.
