I hated the first episode, I was doing a favor by watching the 2nd episode. I didn't even browse /tv/ at that time. I stopped watching mostly because I thought the shotgun blast killed Ray, but due to the previews I knew it had not. The other plotlines were shit except for Ray's, and they started doing cliffhangers, so I stopped watching.

Don't listen to him. It did a lot of things really poorly which my guess is because of an inexperienced director. There were glimmers of interesting things but the structure pacing, acting, dialog is bad to middling.

S02 wasn't as good as S01 but it was still good. Overall it was a great attempt at greek tragedy. Ray and Frank were great and seeing their downfall was interesting. The dialog and the plot were a bit convoluted at first but it for better by the last 3 episodes. Personally i loved the pacing and the acting was objectively good especially on Vince Vaughn's part.
