Well it's hard to cast a 6'7, heavily muscled (never worked out a day in his life) GI Joe who can backflip neck break 8 foot tall gigantes.
Even the author was impressed with his performance, but he's getting paid so who knows how legit that is, in any case it was a solid 90s-esque thriller and this looks just as good, especially with Cobie.

It's because the entire book was very bloody obviously written with the intention of becoming a film, maybe even with a sequel, in mind.
That was my thoughts when reading it
The last novel (concerning a place called 'mothers rest' I think) was better and quite dark at times
Nothing tops the earlier books though
I've been reading a series by Tom Wood (Victor the assassin) that's been a lot better IMHO.
