Maybeeee Marvel payed off the critics because Ronald Emerich called superhero movies silly.

Critics thought the first one was mediocre too. Everyone will see it anyways.

It just needs to match or get higher than the Original's score to be considered good.

>FUCKING DISNEY!

Or maybe its a typical Roland Emmerich flick?

You're still being influenced by RT scores like the people you criticize. You just assume that every film with a low tomato score is some underrated kino masterpiece that was critically panned by paid shills.

>>71126812

Great counterargument. No different from Marveldrones who spam pics of glowing RT scores and Evans in response to criticism. I'm going to assume you know I'm right considering you didn't refute anything of what I said.
>>
Why was this movie made?

Absolutely nobody wanted it. I hope it bombs so he can't fuck up Stargate too.
>>
Entire reason for making this and the hook to reel people in was..

>"We have space fighters and alien tech now so its a even fight!"

>Humans space base on the moon gets destroyed in 30 seconds, the rest of the film is a repeat of the first after that

Jesus christ

I'm enjoying the anal devastation that BvS' failure has caused.
>>
>>71128966
Its true tho.

Man of Steel was made before Marvel got serious with their Cinematic Universe and look at its score?

A reasonable 58%.

That is a perfect score for the movie I'd say. Isnt perfect (too much CGI near end) BUT the Clark story was brilliant, loved the opening scenes with Russel Crowe.

If Man of Steel was made right now then it would have gotten a 20% minumum no joke.

As for Batman V Superman - if it was made few years ago: it would have gotten a 50% or 60%.

But due to Marvel's Avengers - those movies being fun with quips every second; the critics immediately judge DC now over them.
>>
>>71129183
Woops 55% I mean for MoS
>>
>>71129183
So basically, you are blaming people for having a different opinion?
>>

>le contrarian man

For real though, he was a good critic back in the day[read his white dog essay]
>>
>>71129183
>a reasonable 58%

MoS was barely coherent, but, it had a small enough focus so it's incoherency was minimal.

BvS was all the problems of MoS compounded upon themselves with the one thing that kept it from being a complete cluster fuck (narrow focus) completely removed.
>>
>>71129183
>the Clark story was brilliant

The only reason clark doesn't become a complete sociopath after that particular pa kent's upbringing is because of the historical superman character, who's influence is established as being present, somewhat, with that last shot of clark as a kid, running around with a cape, playing, for lack of a better description, "superman," with his dog.

To say, the movie establishes within itself that it's entire claim to a unique take on the superman character will ultimately amount to nothing but a pointless delay to superman becoming super.

World of Warcraft got destroyed in RT just because it wasn't quippy or ADHD popcorn flick much like Mahvel. In other words it had a story that required a brain. Nowadays, if your movie isn't quippy enough you'll be panned by critics. Sad state of affair of movies really. Everyone would just be pushing safe movies for fear of not pandering to the general ADHD populace. Creativity and seriousness is disliked, quips and non-serous stories are hailed.

If LoTR was released it'll get bombed by critics as wel. You can't prove me wrong on this.
>>
honestly with RT, as long as its not < 20% or > 90% (maybe even 95% these days), then I feel like its just a move made for a specific audience
>>
>>71129956
What the fuck are you on about?
>implying capeshit has anything to do with a video game movies
>>
>>71129956
The reason "quipping" causes people to overlook flaws in marvel movies is because it's self-deprecating. The movie admitting to the audience its bad and knows it and hams it up even more as a result.

Whereas warcraft was bad, but acted like it wasn't. Resulting in suffering.
>>
>>71130060

What I'm saying is, all creativity has been destroyed with the "success" of Marvel / Disney movies. Your movie has to be safe, quippy, nothing serious or a popcorn flick for it to be accepted by the critics. Anything that is deemed serious is panned. This is the death of cinema, enjoy your popcorn flicks until Infinity movie 2 ends
>>
>>71130133

Quipping is one of the lowest piece of shits that you can do in a movie. Its not self-deprecating, its an escape to a serious situation in a movie by adding one liners to lighten the mood and move on to the next ADHD action scene. Please stop defending quipping its pure trash.

Also I made a typo on this>>71129956

If LoTR was released today, it would get most likely BvS or Warcraft tier RT score as well. This is a fact
>>
>>71130198
> an escape to a serious situation
I reiterate. Its used as an acknowledgement the audience knows damned good and well the situation is not serious. It is, in fact, quite ridiculous.

Conversely, real people release stress with jokes.

It's the movie admitting it has failed to create a sense of gravitas or a compelling narrative. But in that admission, the audience moves past that failing with the movie, to it's conclusion.

The alternative is to just lose the audience. See: warcraft
>>
>>71130198
>if a faithful adaptation of a beloved work of fiction was released today, it'd be treated the same way as derivative garbage with delusions of novelty

I think you need to lie down.
