What if IT catches up to you when you're in the process of having sex? Does IT just stand there and wait for you to finish? Does it attack at once?
>>
>>71103230
It kills the person you're fucking and then it kills you.
>>
If there is penetration he kills the person you fuck. If not he kills you. Either way, a pretty easy double kill for the monster.
>>
What was the point of the boat with two guys scene? It implied that she had a threesome with them because afterwards she was driving and crying. But this didn't seem to slowdown IT one bit.
>>
>>71103405
That confused me too. Maybe it was able to quickly kill those guys?
>>
>>71103230
Just turn off your brain bro
>>
started off really interesting, them it just turned into shit

>go find the guy who gave it to her, she just fiddles with the grass while he talks instead of asking questions and trying to get information

>guys literally having sex with her dispite knowing this thing is following her
>even after she gets thrown around on the beach

waste of a good idea.
>>
>>71103405
Completely forgot about this scene. It probably should have been cut. I wish this movie were cut down drastically really. Like, 50 minutes maybe
>>
>>71103708
That guy was off taking a piss while they saw that it was real so i can see him not knowing better. But it baffles me that none of the other characters aren't upset with her in the slightest that she doomed that guy.

And in the end of the movie, they just killed it? It was a good scene (minus the retard shooting the girl in the leg) but didn't satisfy the high-concept motive of the character. I guess maybe the fact that it caused a surge of blood in the water when killed symbolized that she got her period (which was a relief/ a release from the curse); meaning 'IT' was basically a pregnancy scare?
>>
>>71103405
It was meant to be ambiguous, and meant to raise question about how to deal with this situation ethically.

Furthermore it might deal into the movies theme of the death of youth and innocence.
>>
>>71103922

Yea possibly, there are also theories that IT is old age. You have sex with others to try to pass on your bloodline to the next generation. IT represents death slowly following your bloodline until there's none left.

>And in the end of the movie, they just killed it?

How many times do I have to explain this. The girl who dies in the beginning of the movie (found on beach with leg broken) is carrier who originally passed it to the guy who passed it to the main female character.

Beach Girl > House Guy > Main Female Character

The first scene of the movie is Beach girl giving up and being murdered by IT. The last scene of the movie is the main female character and her cuck being followed by IT.
Because we see Beach girl dead we know that IT has already made it's way to her, meaning that everyone she fucked is already dead, meaning that cuck, main female character, and house guy have already died.

It's really not meant to be ambiguous guys.

>TL:DR
It gets everyone in the end.
>>
>>71105473

How do you know that the guy didnt pass it to beach girl who died, then had IT start following him again so he passed it back to the MC?
>>
>>71105607
House guy shows the gang a picture of his gf who he says passed IT to him, it's a picture of beach girl.
>>
>>71105713

Oh I looked back in the film and found it. It's when they go into the abandoned house and find the couple pic in the porno mags. How certain are we that he got it from her and she didnt give it to him? Maybe thats what happened after she was killed, he went all out and really tried to get rid of the "curse"
>>
what if IT is nothing but a poorly thought out metaphor for promiscuity and IT falls apart under any sort of scrutiny?
>>
>>71103405
How did she swim all the way out to the boat with a plaster cast on her arm? Wouldn't it have gotten soggy and fallen apart?
>>
>>71103405

We don't really know how much time has passed from her fucking the three guys and when shes at home. The guys could have been partying one night and IT got a triple kill
>>
>>71106476
What if IT is a fun monster thriller that a lot of people liked without overthinking IT?
>>
>>71103405
she can only pass it to one of them you fuckwit, not all three. and she probably didn't explain the whole following process to the dude, she was just trying to buy herself a couple hours
>>
>>71107432
>implying it wasn't an orgy
>>
>>71103230
What happens when it kills the last person to catch "it" and the all the people before them have died?
>>
What happens if a girl who has it just sucks your dick, does the monster just give you a dirty look?
>>
What if you wear a condom?
>>
>>71107506
>>71107600
>>71107620

These are the hard questions.
>>
why are all these questions being asked that the film deliberately leaves ambiguous?
>>
Why doesn't the monster use its ability to look like anyone to get the drop on the main character?
>>
>>71106763
If she fucked them all one at a time wouldn't IT kill the first guy she fucked and then come back after her? The sloppy seconds and thirds guys should have been safe unless they all took turns and gangbanged her at the same time then nutted at the same time.

There's so many questions. What about blow jobs, or anal, do they count or does it have to be straight vaginal intercourse with a creampie to fully pass it on.

This movies concept is great but it is not good. The movie just falls apart after the first 30 minutes
>>
>>71107701
It can't just magically turn into whoever it wants, that would be ridiculous.
>>
>>71107769
Please explain what you mean by this opinion.
>>
such a stylish movie. any similarly stylish movies?
>>
>>71107815
Well when I first saw the trailer I thought the monster idea was actually terrifying, like some kind of childhood irrational fear. The idea of the monster though should mean constant tension and running, the film had weird dead spots where the MC and her beta orbiter talk or something and those scenes served no purpose. The whole third act was just typical horror movie trash.

Also anytime the monster is shot it's just done badly people were laughing in the theater. It was like they broke all the important rules that movies like alien set up that makes a monster scary
>>
>>71107949
Anytime the monsters confronted**
>>
>>71107506
When IT catches patient zero then IT disappears. But there is more than one IT.

>>71107600
Any kind of sex act involving the reproductive organs transfers IT. If one of the female IT incarnations had caught the main character then they would have still been fucked to death.

>>71107620
An unbroken condom will stop the transfer of IT because there must be contact between the reproductive organs during the sex act.
>>
>>71107949
>the monster ... should mean constant tension and running
The film needs moments of calm in order to create contrast for the thrilling scenes. If it was all running then it would have been just another flick.

>weird dead spots where the MC and her beta orbiter talk ... those scenes served no purpose
They were meant to provide a backstory for the characters and to make you emotionally invested in the story. Without strong personalities why would you care if IT killed them?

>third act was just typical horror movie trash
>just done badly
>they broke all the important rules
Explain or don't complain.

can we all pay attention to what really matters? Like what the fuck was with this stupid seashell phone, and for that matter, WHEN did this movie take place? Old tvs, radios, cars, etc, and then cell phones.
>>
>>71107949
>The idea of the monster though should mean constant tension and running, the film had weird dead spots where the MC and her beta orbiter talk or something and those scenes served no purpose.

it's like The Terminator, but unlike that movie it can't cut to the monster trying to find the main character. you should have figured that out and accepted it instead of not being able to figure out why the movie was like it was and getting annoyed at an inevitable feature.

>The whole third act was just typical horror movie trash.

her friend has loved her since childhood so he's the only one who can kill the entity. it's pretty simple to the point that I think the filmmakers didn't realize they needed to explain for everyone to get it.
>>
>>71103230
Hi again David!

btw your movie sucked :^)
>>
>>71103230

The IT department probably records it on their cell phones.

It will attack. Having constant sex won't prevent it from attacking.
>>
>>71108703

he did say that, but in the abandoned house they find a pic of him and his gf. I Think he got it from the one night stand and later gave it to his GF (on accident or on purpose? im not sure)

My theory is that It Follows is child abuse. Whoever you do it to you curse to do it to someone else.

It Follows always shows up as a parent.
>>
>>71112160

that one time it shows up as glasses girl on the beach tho
>>
>>71112897
Yeah I shouldn't have said it always shows up as a parent. It fucks that guy to death as his Mother (I think that's what it's doing anyways) and it shows up as her Father at the end. I think she was abused by her Father as well.
>>
>>71105473
wrong. It would have just gone after the guys not beach girl. remember you pass it on after sex.

if the girl in the picture really is beachgirl then the writers fucked up.

How would /tv/ fight It?

I would drive way way into the country, enough for several days worth of preparations. Rent a farm with nothing close to it for miles. Build deep pit traps all around the house and have a cement mixer on standby. When It arrives, it falls in one of the pit traps/ Pour cement over it, let it harden and dump It in the ocean.
>>
>>71114760

>How would /tv/ fight It?
We don't have any idea how smart it is so let's assume it's smarter than any of us. We don't have any idea what powers it has so let's assume It Follows has some fucking reality warping powers n shit.

The only way to beat It Follows is to play it at the rules of it's game and that game is fucking. One whore per day for two weeks or until my money runs out.
>>
>>71103405
She fucked the two guys. First she had sex with one guy and it passed on to him, but what it did not tell you was that the 2 guys were bisexual.

So after she fucked that 1 guy, she watched as the guy fucked the other guy in the ass, so both of them got it.

But it followed her quick because the dudes were fucking off screen cause they were gay and got double killed.
>>
>>71115863

There's no way it can walk across the ocean, so I'll be fine. If not, it'll take like 30 years.

Walk along the bottom of the ocean. Anyway it has been debated before that it has the ability to respawn in the general area of its intended victim if they move too far away. Evidence of this is it catching up with Jay's crowd in less time than it would take to walk to the places they go in the movie.
>>
You guys like a bad movie. I feel bad for you
>>
>>71116451
Well it can get bowled over pretty easily by gun shots and shit. So I think strong ocean currents would severely delay the journey.

>it has the ability to respawn
If we're going that far then yeah, my idea's not going to work. But then would anything? No matter what you do it'll respawn.
>>
>>71116602
Not him and I think the respawning was just to keep the film interesting. That said though, the only thing you can do to beat it is to play the game and fuck tramps. Fuck fags as well. Those flamers are hypersexual and you aren't going to get any trouble from It Follows for about 2 years per pillow bite.
>>
Why didn't they just go to a priest and get an exorcism? The Church has been dealing with this shit for 2,000 years.

Is there any actual symbolism in this film or is it really just a film that feels symbolic because of it's ambiguity?

its movie like how the kids think they can find a way to defeat it but realistic when they cant.

>>
>>71105473

>>
>>71119431
its a horror film c'mon
>>
>>71119584
I considered that. But if it's about STDs why do they have to pass it on to keep living? There's also arguments for it being about sexual abuse or the loss of innocence or whatever and they all sorta fit. No one theory really sticks.
>>
>>71119787
It's probably not about one thing in particular, like any good horror movie it basically plays out a general concept, with a little bit of forced symbolism, just to see what sticks. The important part is the throughline worked and it didn't get too up its own ass.
>>
>>71114760
It showed that it was smart enough not to fall for super obvious traps during the pool scene, so you'd have to come up with something that could at least fool someone with human intelligence. But trapping it inside a shipping container or a pit and then encasing it in concrete or something similar seems like a good way to try and fight it.
>>
>>71105473
>How many times do I have to explain this. The girl who dies in the beginning of the movie (found on beach with leg broken) is carrier who originally passed it to the guy who passed it to the main female character.

That's obviously not true. If Beach Girl passed it to House Guy, then Beach Girl would not have been killed before House Guy.
