The fact that so many books still name Skyfall as “the greatest or most significant or most influential” Jame Bond film ever only tells you how far the Bond series still is from becoming a serious art. It should be long recognized that the superior films are Casino Royal and The Living Daylights, not the best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Dr.No over other classical films who were highly popular in cinemas around Europe. 21st century critics are still blinded by commercial success. Skyfall sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest.Film critics are often totally ignorant of the Bond films of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that Skyfall did anything worthy of being saved.

Can someone post the original pasta?
I've never seen this pasta adapted for movies before, good job anon
>>71103023
just google it you cretin
>>71103033
Th point still stands though
Skyfall is so over rated and people were blinded by its success and reviews
Skyfall had its moments.
>>71103130
It did
Those moments were wasted on dogshit
How did no one read the script and notice that the plot made no fucking sense?
>>71103233
No I don't think so since they're so incompetent. I'm glad I see someone who also thinks Skyfall had a shit plot. So many faggots here praise it. The plot was thin as fuck, and made no sense.
HURR DURR a flashdrive of important agents is taken by the bad guys! Bond, stop them/get it back!
Bond Fails.
Flashdrive info is released/compromises agents' identities/MI6 attacked
Lets get whoever did this!
Turns out to be a rogue agent who hates M
Suddenly the whole retrieving the flashdrive thing is dropped, despite the villain mentioning there's tons of more names he's going to release and other info that will hurt MI6 and we never hear about it again.
At the end, the villain has a chance to still kill Bond, after being wounded, but he chooses not to.
People with critical thinking skills: Umm...the flashdrive? Why is no one talking about that flashdrive? Wasn't that the important plot point?
/tv/ : It's a great plot! It totally makes sense!
Shut up you morons.

thank you Piero

Sean Connery sucked and Lazenby was best Bond
>wife gets killed at the end of Majesty, fucking tragic
>Connery comes back for Diamonds and he makes quips as he kills his wife's killer
We could've had Bondkino 40 years ago if they didn't bitch out of doing the serious tone of Majesty throughout.
Does Scruffy browse /tv/? He wants to marry 12 year old girls, right?
>current year
>books
de/lit/ this
>>71103872
I never got the love for Lazenby. It's like they sent out scouts to find someone who looks exactly like Connery, then dressed him like Connery and told him to act exactly like Connery.
None of those are necessarily bad things, but he didn't bring anything new and was basically just a copycat.
Nothing wrong with a little bit of serious in Bond, but we've seen what it's done to the franchise when taken too far. And yes, Diamonds was a mistake.

It's not flooding or spamming, dipshit, it's just an opinion you don't happen to like.
>>71104272
>spotted the 16 yr old
>>71104330
It is spamming/flooding because it's in every fucking thread about Bond
Bond movies were always pleb trash. Skyfall is probably one of the closest to being a serious movie.
>>71104272
I forgot how gorgeous that movie is, I need to watch it again
>>71104330
It's been posted 540 times with no variation.
It also violates >>>/global/rules/6
>>71104360
And in every thread about Bond multiple people spam off-topic Daniel Craig stuff, implying he played James Bond, but for some reason that's okay.

Enjoy.

Jesus Christ, it's funny how fucking butthurt you Craig haters are.

>>71104427
I don't give a fuck about substance, it's a James Bond movie, I don't expect Tarkovsky
>>71104272
such gorgeous cinematography, too bad the movie is shit. What a waste.

yeah but usually that's provoked by fucking idiots who post the "craig bond" meme

You must think Casino Royale is a popcorn flick.
>>71104538
No, I'm talking about Skyfall. Casino Royale is one of the few exceptions, though.

>I don't give a fuck about substance, it's a James Bond movie

>one of the few exceptions
Please stop wasting your time, what are you arguing? It was poor word choice
>>71104511
>he thinks it's more than one person with autism
>>71104538
Royale is the only Bond movie with true characterization and substance but it's also the only book that had it too.
Skyfall has a good amount of characterization too, Bond in the older movies was always a Gary Stu male power fantasy and not a real person like he was originally written.
>>71104593
He's right, though.
Bond movies are all about style and the shiny facade; that's the appeal, and what's kept the franchise around for half a century.
>>71104627
>I don't give a fuck about substance, it's a James Bond movie

>Royale is the only Bond movie with true characterization and substance but it's also the only book that had it too.
Except for OHMSS, Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, GE? You have to go back.
>>71104593
nobody does.
It's one of the most shallow franchises ever made.
Not that that's a bad thing.
living daylights and casino royale are the best bond movies tho
>>71104721
Living Daylights has more substance than Skyfall could ever dream of.
>>71104687
>oh boohoo his wife died so sad ;_;
What a fucking hackneyed ending to a otherwise good movie.
I forgot about GoldenEye and 006. Based Sean Bean.
