Not really. Euron is in the show, Victarion isn't. Yara/Asha and theon run away to Dany after the kingsmoot with a small amount of followers and Euron decides to kill them, but waits until after hey escape for some reason.
Dany teamed up with Yara for no reason (because they are the good guys in the show) and Euron is presumably going to be the big bad guy for the start of next season.

Had they used these seasons to gradually turn her from an enlightened despot to a total dictator, culminating in her attempting to conquer the seven kingdoms with the same armies she has now, that would have been cool. But now that she acts and says that she's the good guy, and the show clearly wants us to believe that she is, it all just comes off as bad writing.
