The only reason I remember that movie is because I was 9 when it came out and prior to it's release we'd read the book in class for something called "book talk". I just remember being confused by how bad it was and the only thing I could think to say to my parents when we walked out of the theatre was "eh, the book was better" and the grown ups all laughing. Didn't find out until a little bit later that that was a really hack cliche thing to say, it was just honestly how I felt about it.
